Final design for what is currently a massive construction site at the Rozelle Interchange.
This govt is doing some great stuff.

Don't forget what is underneath all of this........

And an isometric view of all those underground tunnels.

BJD delivers again.
The further this project develops, the more insanely humungous it appears.
The new M12 motorway direct access, the new Metro rail from St Mary's, and the size of the airport itself.
An incredible bit of infrastructure.

Only issue they have to consider is the supply of aviation fuel because the 'pipeline' wont be ready for quite some time - so that means they'll have to truck it in. While I think the location is pretty good I also wonder how fog may become a factor in wintertime out there. I hope to catch a plane there at some point in the future.

Labor guy is doing opposition electioneering.

I agree that the case to oz build should have been exhausted before they went OS. Unsure of background TBH.

Here's some background about the cracked inner west light rail carriages:

So, Harbourside Darling Harbour closed for demolition last Friday. The thing one loses touch with when they move away.

The place was a touristy dump. So run down. Something you'd expect to see in a suburban shopping mall.

The new place? So much better.

I don't know much about the redevelopment, just like the Circular Quay upgrade. Do you know the timeline on the Harbourside project?

Demolition to begin in early 2023.
It'll be a 2 year re-build after that, pending final approvals.
Probably re-opening sometime in late 2025 - mid 2026.

Hmmm, that's earlier than I expected. I hope the lesson is learned from a defunct tourist/dining precinct that lasted only 34 years.

The original Phillip Cox designed Exhibition and Convention centres lasted even less time.
Their replacements are superb.
The Maritime Museum is the only remaining building from the Darling Harbour rebuild that has stood the test of time.

The 1984 - 86 Parramatta stadium re-build didn't last 34 years and look at the great stadium we have now.
Everything has an end life if not designed properly.

Was going to post about Phillip Cox. Great architecture is timeless. His Darling Harbour and SFS rubbish have all but been torn down.

Lot's of bullshit political speak but an amazing project nonetheless.
And there is plenty more to come at Rozelle and the west harbour tunnel and the Gateway link to Sydney airport.
