It's a tricky one.
The Sharks sold a shite load of valuable land to developers. The developers have since made a motza, compared to what the Sharks sold it for. It looked a good deal at the time but Cronulla really haven't benefitted as well as they should have. On the eastern side, they didn't even leave enough space for ground improvements, which could have been written into contracts and designed with the assistance of the developers.
Considering it is a privately owned ground, they only have themselves to blame. They have no right to be putting their hand out now because of their own short sightedness.
And no, a ground with a capacity of 13 000 should NOT be getting rights to a home semi-final. That's just amateur hour on behalf of the NRL.
Given the opportunity, the Roosters would have brought that many fans on their own.
The new Jacksons on George re-opened today.
Looks fab.
Jacksons on George is back and it’s nothing like the grungy CBD pub you remember
Forget the sticky carpets. It’s waiters in white jackets, sunset views from the rooftop, and a house jazz band at the three-level venue, which opens today.

After a five-year hiatus, Jacksons on George – the Sydney CBD venue affectionately known for its sticky floors and pub grub – opens today, reborn as a three-level mega venue with a glam rooftop bar, smart bistro and ground-floor public bar with tables spilling onto George Street. It’s within Lendlease’s massive Circular Quay development, Sydney Place.

Gladys Berejiklian's promised tunnel to Manly still up in the air
Gladys Berejiklian has all but promised to build this $3 billion project to help win a by-election but the response to an FoI request suggests NSW is still uncertain if it stacks up.www.afr.com
Mmmm. Not a nice situation for sure. But that's what happens with a cancel everything govt .Whether or not the road gets built is one thing, but I am appalled at the government kicking people out of their homes in order to build something that now has been cancelled. These people don't now get the chance to get their homes back. Disgraceful.

Now cancelled.*previous government wanting to build infrastructure
They are keeping the corridor for future planning.Whether or not the road gets built is one thing, but I am appalled at the government kicking people out of their homes in order to build something that now has been cancelled. They may call it Jacksons on George...but that ain't Jacksons on George.

Quite rightly. Shame on the previous government needlessly disrupting those people's lives. Now cancelled.
Huh?
The Jackson’s I remember wasn’t anywhere near that fancy.
Sometimes it was just fun going to an absolute shithole, the place you can get in when every other place won’t let you through the doors.
I’m sure this place is really nice. Just won’t have that same atmosphere.
