Parramatta Stadium Rebuild and other stuff

f**ken mess.
Greedy developers have a sniff of some extra cash with these new zoning laws coming, and so will sit back and wait.

And then there’s no guarantee that whatever new proposal will be put forward will be approved, so then that’s even more time. This derelict, fire-damaged, dangerous building will be still standing there for another 20 years at this rate.
Unless the Wests Tigers win a comp, and their Balmain fanbase decide to torch it in celebration.

I’ll be supporting this plan. The Holt Family will even upgrade the road to four lanes all the way to Kurnell at a cost of $100m.

Google maps have flight paths, current to October 23

Gee, living in Kurnell would not be fun. Unsure how the WSA changes Kurnell, maybe it does, I am dumb, and this is the reason why they are doing this ?

"When the project was first announced in 2017, the former government said it hoped to start construction before 2020. Despite a series of announcements – including $602 million in 2022 for a 320-metre bridge over the Parramatta River – the project had yet to receive its formal approval."

Well done Minns NSW Government on this infrastructure achievement - turning plans and hopes into funded implementation.

With the potential of Rosehill raceourse being demolished i fell the Carlingford line is now going to be a complete waste.

I still cant believe racing NSW are going to demo Rosehill racecourse its a shit move considering the infrastructure getting put in around the complex now.

I'm a bit confused. What do the merkins who live in Telopea have to do with a new medium / high density Rosehill site ?

From a Parramatta POV, I think Rosehill should stay. How good is it to have Parramatta Park, CommBank, Rosehill Gardens, Powerhouse Museum and new Lyric Theatre in a shiny new Parramatta ? If you want to be a grown up city, you need stuff like this.

From a development POV, why not trash Warwick Farm or Canterbury race courses ? Who gives a rats about them ?

The previous govt implemented and planned this project. They also committed to building it.
Yep, well done Chris Minns riding on the tails of something they never would have done themselves.

The opening of the NW Metro in 2019 was a game changer for transport in Sydney. Modern clean stations, fast, regular trains with low OPEX.
But wow, the extension of this line from Chatswood through the City to Sydenham opening in about 4 months (and further to Bankstown in 2025) will be next level. As will the Sydney West Metro and West Sydney Airport Metro.

The infrastructure is insane. There was an open day today at Victoria Cross station in North Sydney. This station is huge and absolutely stunning. Quality of finishes is superb. The subtle lighting is very impressive.
Built for the future growth of North Sydney. Bradfield type thinking.

Victoria Cross is an odd station with only lift entry ? I wonder how that is going to go in peak times ? Large capacity, high speed, multiple lifts ? Yeah I'm a skeptic. Lifts vs escalators for moving commuters?

Ahm, ok.
You clearly didn't watch the full video mate.
It has an amazing amount of escalators. At the important end of the station.

I didn't watch it all. I'm just going off memory that Victoria Station is lift access only. Is that wrong. I guess I will need to watch the vid then.

I can tell you Epping Metro Station has not been cleaned (I'm talking about floor tiles, air ducts, walls etc) since prior to Covid. What a disgrace from the State Govt (both Lib and Labor). Did you see the articles on air quality?

I agree the service is great (when it is running) but it could be better.

Understand. I got my info off one of the random YouTubers who once said that VicCross had lift access only. That was only partially correct. All good.

What parts of Epping station are not cleaned regularly?
All the other metro stations are always spotless. I've even found the Epping Metro component of the station always similarly clean. Actually, I've always found Epping to be a decently clean station generally.
