So Durban SA got stripped of the Commonwealth games in 2022.

And we have been in talks with the Comm games merkins about a backup host.

Drop in athletics track at ANZ is all that needs to be done ?

Parra would be used for Rugby 7s I assume.

I think it's understood that the refurb would be delayed.

Moot point anyway cos i agree that Oz won't get the games 2018 then 22 unless we get it Stephen Bradbury style.

Parra Council have also recently been advertising for a "Senior Strategic Project Officer Future City"... so it's all happening.

Western stand completely gone.
Eastern Stand 2/3rds gone.
Strider has obviously picked up the two western light towers because they are also gone.
Southern concourse has gone, and I assume the northern has as well, although it wasn't visible.
Demolition team is setting a cracking pace!!

Also, most of the Leagues club carpark has a hoarding around it in preparation for the building of the multi story car park. Looks like this is about to start as well.

Yeah every time you turn them on our lights dim 15km away. Now all my neighours can't charge their Teslas !

Yeah - I wanted to get a few photos of the demolition last week from the hill behind the club parking area but really can't get anywhere near it now - all hoarded up.

Yeh.
That hill was still accessible about 3 weeks ago but I also noticed it is now fenced off.
IT's actually a huge work site and will get bigger once the pool closes.
The best view will probably be from the top balcony of the Leagues Club.
