https://www.smh.com.au/politics/nsw...uses-to-budge-for-nurses-20241112-p5kpwu.html

"The Police Association of NSW is recommending members accept the offer of 22.3 per cent to 39.4 per cent over four years for non-commissioned officers and between 20.5 per cent and 27.1 per cent for commissioned officers when it comes to a vote next Monday.

The government says the four-year offer is worth $697.6 million and would be funded by reforms to police insurance.

Fears of a rail shutdown over the weekend have been averted, Minns said, after the government caved in to the demands of the Rail, Tram and Bus Union to provide 24-hour services from Thursday through Sunday to avoid commuter disruptions."

Minns and his cohorts bowing down to Union blackmail and thuggery.
Who'd have ever thunk it?

Also, pay rises of between 23% and 39% for the cops. Of course the Police Association would recommend accepting it.
I wish I could raise my rates by that much but if I did, I'd never get any work and tradies would be accused of being greedy.
Oh well, it's only taxpayers money that the Govt are wasting spending.

My daughter's boyfriend joined the cops last year and is already earning over $80 000 a year in his first year and is now in line for a massive pay rise, yet nurses in this state are fighting for a pittance, and the RTBU are just taking the piss with their claims. It's time this govt stood up against their sponsors.

and nurses got offered 3%

its a bit of a joke if you live on the border because nurses over the road in Qld get $15 and hour more than NSW nurses and Tweed just got this huge new hospital and its staffed at about 25% at the moment and they just cannot get any more nurses

they make decent offers to nurses from Sydney and pay thier relocation costs but as soon as they get up here and realise they can get $15 an hour more if they travel an extra 10 mins and work in a Qld hospital, so they pretty much all leave after a few months, plus if you come from another state, Qld give you $1000 cash

its a brand new hospital and it will never be staffed while there is such a huge difference in wages

Everyone deserves a payrise. Where’s that Oprah gif, you get a pay rise, you get a pay rise…..

I get it, it’s tough in a cost of living crisis and some sectors have been waiting longer than others. Some sectors can pull on the heart strings or inconvenience you until you cave in.

In my building in the city, we are trying to push through important upgrades to comply with a Fire Order from Sydney City Council. Part of the upgrades involves rewiring. Easy ? No. Our power enters the building from the street into the basement. Ausgrid own that infrastructure and you can’t touch it. Our sparkies have done their prep and simply await Ausgrid to come on site and undertake 2 hours work. At the moment Ausgrid have their own pay dispute and they can’t possibly get to us until March.

Here we go again.
Unions chucking another tantrum. They don't give a f**k about inconveniencing the general public.

Hope you don’t want a Friday or Saturday night out this week with an itinerary of taking trams anywhere on George St because there will be no trams on the L2/3 in the CBD. No L1 either.

Transport for NSW suggesting people walk if they are able to. Lol.

Jo Haylen and Minns are terrific at opening infrastructure that they basically opposed and apart from the odd nod to,Gladys they are happy to bask in the reflected glory.

Now , they have no understanding that by providing large wage rises to one sector of the public service, that just about anyone employed in the public service will demand the same and strike to get it.

Economics 101 and governments fail at it, surprise factor - zero.

It's a no brainer, eh?
It will be interesting to see how they stand up against the same unions that are going to cost them so much more out of their budget with ridiculous pay rise claims.
Doesn't matter though. It is us taxpayers who will fund it.

So Jo, you finally get that the unions are trying to screw you and your govt.
What a surprise.

https://www.smh.com.au/politics/nsw...ay-offer-next-stop-court-20241113-p5kq80.html

Transport Minister Jo Haylen said the bans would make it more difficult to run services on the city’s rail network, and the demands to run trains around the clock would cost taxpayers an extra $1.5 million a week.

“There will be delays and cancellations. We’re asking the unions to lift these bans,” she said.

“While these bans are in place, they’re like a boa constrictor on our train network. They are strangling and making it harder and will eventually squeeze the life out of the network.”

Nurses are very noisy today. Go girls.

View attachment 96544

Nurses are pretty pissed off atm, not sure if it was reported but the union didn't call the strike or march, the members themselves organized it when the union accepted the 3 % and the police force got a 35% increase

When you consider the nurses all have a 4 year uni degree and the police force is a 16 week training period at their academy, this is what got all the nurses stirred up

Not saying the cops don't deserve a payrise but what's the point in doing a nursing degree in NSW ?
