Yep, just reread the thread, and plenty of doubts- myself included.

Has gone well so far and has hopefully a couple of good years left in him.

My main doubts were around signing him and losing younger guys, but so far they have kept everyone of note.

I must have known something on a sub conscious level as picked him in my Supercoach team and got over a 100 points this week!

Reading through the thread makes me laugh at even some of my posts.
I'm now 100% convinced that we made the right choice.

He was taking hit ups out of our territory, always 10 metres or more almost matt utai like.
What about the drop out? 72 metres on the fly.
Goalkicking is something that hurt us in the past but no more. He will win us games.

That was so awesome. Wish he'd never left.

That drop out was insane. Goal line drop outs are nowhere near as bad for you if the opposition start start every set on there own 40m line.

He has been better then I expected, as another poster said the goal kicking is huge. I was sick to death of us going up by 4 instead of 6 since hodge left. So far he has kicked 11 from 12 for us this year.

Yeah I was dissapointed right on the stroke of halftime when he got put in that gap only to get run down fairly easily. I know it was 90m but you want your wingers to score when they get in the clear, no matter how far it is.

He's been an awesome signing and squashed any doubts. Imagine he never left? he would go down as one of the all time great NRL wingers.

Not bagging him at all.

Just wondering how great he could have been a few years ago with that bit of extra pace.

Tall enough to catch some of Benji's passes destined for Row F too :)

His goalkicking alone will win us the tight games. He is really our best new signing without a doubt.

Tapau could rival him for that. He is looking every bit the real deal. Very impressed with his work rate as well as his explosiveness. He was firing the boys up out there with talk as well.

and the line up of plodders who have played on the wing for us over the past decade would have never seen the light of day in first grade

Yeah I'm not sure whether I like Richards or Taupau better. Richards goal-kicking must have added 6 points of goals that Benji would have missed (not ripping on Benji, but Richards is such a better kicker).
But then Taupau...he's a f**king prop and already scored three tries...yes three, i don't give a shit what the video ref thinks he should have been awarded that try so in my books it counts as 3.
He's just so full of vigor and charges the line like he's in a warzone. I feel like he is only going to get better.

So we have a total of 6 tries thanks to a 32 year-old winger and a bench prop....these guys are GUN! EXCELLENT SIGNINGS

NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley says Wests Tigers winger Pat Richards is in contention for a State of Origin debut after making a strong return to the NRL.

The interstate opener is six weeks away and already there are headaches – some pleasant and some less so – for the NSW hierarchy. If Paul Gallen and Robbie Farah don’t recover from injury in time, Daley will be forced to appoint a new skipper.

Those setbacks have been tempered by the strong form of Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs’ Josh Reynolds and Parramatta Eels hooker Nathan Peats, while Jorge Taufua made a successful return against the Cronulla Sharks on Sunday. Another revelation has been Richards, who returned to the Tigers after an eight-year stint with Wigan Warriors in the Super League.

Asked if Richards was on his radar, Daley said: ‘‘Yeah, he’s been great, he’s playing in a team up there near the top. He’s a guy who has plenty of experience and is a guy who we’ll continue to monitor along with a couple of the others."

I hope they don't pick him for completely selfish reasons but it shows how good he is if he can get a SoO jersey after being in SL all those years.
