Penrith Panthers General Manager Phil Gould has issued the following press statement:

“Contrary to some media reports, there has never been any suggestion of the Panthers Board needing to meet to discuss the future of Michael Jennings.”

“I met with Michael and his manager last week to remind him of certain obligations under his contract, and his need for responsibility in adhering to those requirements. The matter in question did not require any action from the club at this time.”

While I think we could easily have been in that game if luck was with us given Coote was very close to a try, Burns and Jenko could have had 3 more between them, along with losing Walsh, Jennings and Lewis.

On the other side, Newcastle lost Bedsy and Kidley and I would say Bennett would have given them a massive razzing for their horrific performance in the second half.

We were poor and luckless against a poor team. We got flogged.
