Rumours and Stuff

Their defence has fallen off a cliff due to loss of JFH, and their attack isn't good enough to chase points. It leads to them taking more risks, completing fewer sets, and putting more pressure on their defence. It's a vicious circle.

If it was just about favouritism by the refs, is there any reason that would've stopped? More importantly, is there any reason they were ref favourites in the first place?

You need to protect the players head one for their own well being and two for future law suits.

The problem is how do they detract players from continuing to do that

The game is faster, the players bigger and have the ability to offload so around the legs doesn't always cut it . It was simple but the players have put grown that simple game. It's probably why gridiron has so much padding and helmets

The padding and helmets are part of the problem. They become weapons.

Maybe it's just my conspiracy theory brain affecting my judgement, but it surely must help to be liked by referees when your club is the major sponsor of the biggest refereeing academy in the country....and I reckon the nrl are sick of seeing the panthers in another grand final and had a word with the ref's....

I know it sounds fanciful.....but if you think everything is legit in this sport.....I give up

Allowing more offloads would be a good thing for the game.

Making players tackle lower, or reducing the amount of players in a tackle would benefit the game by reducing high tackles and also create more enterprising attack by speeding up the game.

Defo. I loved it when we were the offload kings. The 2009 team was beautiful to watch and i wished that was parraball but we never improved it or made it a consistent skill. I wished we could defend like crazy and play offload footy

But it's not me that is stopping offloads, it's the coaches who indtruct the players to wrap up the ball and they get it wrong and hit the players in the head

11 days between games for us, and just 5 for the sharks, who will only get one training session in prior to Friday night. There will certainty be no excuses for us to not dominate energy wise in the contest. Moses kicking game can win us the match by simply making their forwards keep turning around and working it back off their line.

we have a horrible record at magic round, and when I go to games - hopefully both of those turn around on Friday

Its a wet day in Sydney today so I expect it to be a heavy track at Leichhardt as well which plays into our hands.

I am going on Friday and have an excellent record at Suncorp stadium.

0 losses so far

Can’t remember the last time I saw us win in person. Whether it’s up here in Brisbane or when I come down to Sydney haha. It has been a tough run for me haha

Well I’ll be at Suncorp on Friday and then at CommBank the next Thursday v dolphins.

Surely we can snag one of them. Feel more sorry for my son who I drag along who hasn’t seen a win in-person in about 6 years

We led the NRL in offloads every year from 2019 to 2024.

I was at the Dragons win, but can't remember the last Eels win I attended before that.

I was at the Easter Tigers loss last year and the Melbourne finals loss in 2017. Before that I was at Parra Stadium when Manly belted us in 2013. Before that it was the 2011 loss in Melbourne. I reckon the last win I attended was when we smashed the Storm in 2010. Fifteen years between drinks ffs. Seen some wins on telly but, as well as the Nines in Perth about five years ago.

I've been to magic twice, the 60 flogging against the Storm where Brad was rewarded with yet another contract and the night we got beaten by a Dreadful Titans outfit. I'm going again Friday what could go wrong??? 3rd time lucky?
