Analyse - “to study or examine something in detail typically in order to explain or interpret it”
You appear to have lied as there was analysis. When will you repay your debt?

Incorrect. We are speculating, which is a discipline of philosophy.

Our discussion is not grounded in fact and we are debating differing hypothesis for which we are trying to work out a true meaning.

I was wondering who carries the truth debt burden. Is it the person who tells the lie, for the times there are repercussions when the truth comes out..?

Or is it the recipient of the lie? For there can be shame, embarrassment and a break of trust when the truth comes out..

I believe it is he who tells the lie...

So in my example of the terminal person, if I tell them a lie just before they die, why would the truth burden be upon me?

There is no way for the truth to be provided to the recipient and no repercussion upon me.

And a further point to ponder, if in that moment my lie actually lifted the spirit of the recipient so that their last moments alive were happy ones, is there truly a debt that needs to be repaid?

As a side line the quote came from the new mini series Chernobyl which is brilliant !
The concept of brilliance is highly subjective, and requires the appropriate, and balanced, level of comparison from all parties to have the right point of reference.

For example, you and I may be taking a stroll together on a lush green lawn.. But are we both seeing the grass as the same shade of green?

And how would we know either way?

But for a medium of the arts to achieve the same rating of brilliant, I would need to first understand what is the comparative set to which it is compared, plus an understanding of your life experience to date.

How many shows have you seen? Do you have family or emotional ties to Eastern Europe? Were you in a heightened state of emotion at the time of consuming the media?

More so, what makes us enjoy particular storylines over others? And is it in our nature to derive pleasure from the unfortunate situations of others? Even if it is only a fictional recreation of a real event.
