Hindmarshisgod:
Hypothetically if Parramatta had a home final at Parramatta Stadium that sold out real quickly. Would you be in favour of it being moved to a bigger stadium to cater for those fans that missed out? Remember Parramatta Stadium has a capacity similar to that at WIN Jubilee Oval.

Parramatta bandwagon will still be in the garage in Round 1

Dragons fans will probably outnumber Eels fans like they did at Parramatta Stadium this year (it looked like it on TV at least)

However the hypocrisy on display is rather amusing

Yeah, your right buddy. Because there is going to be 60000 or 70000 fans wanting to come to this game, just like in the semi final. Dumb merkin.

LOL A TROLL

Err. ever heard of season openers or double headers? 99 for instance sold out 110k Olympic stadium. Use your head or crawl back under Tom Uglies.

The morons seem to gravitate towards each other... There is no difference. We were entitled to a home semi just as Parra are entitled to a round one fixture. They shouldn't be made to move theirs just as we shouldn't have been made to move ours

How is a round one game the same as a finals game

Round 10 vs Bulldogs the Dragons were asked to move their home game to a bigger stadium as well as the Round 26 fixture against the Eels so that visiting supporters could get in

But it's all about the goooood of the game isn't it? Surely a packed SFS looked better than people being turned away at Parramatta Stadium? Well....?

What should it matter what round or finals game it is? We earned it!

What you don't know is that Saints are regularly asked to move to another ground to accomodate other supporters during the regular rounds. Round 26 is the most recent example.

The same doesn't get asked of Brookvale or Parramatta, as we are witnessing here. And the Bulldogs, well they caved and gave up their home ground years ago.

How is a round one game any different to round 26? You know, when the self-righteous crusaders were trying to get us to move. Remember the Masons being 'locked out'? I bet you were one of the tabloid junkies that believed it too. We certainly had more than few opposition supporters trying to make us give up our home ground in round 26, and that was just an entree for the crap that followed for the finals.

But relax troll, I don't think Parra or anyone should be pressured into giving up their home advantage. I never considered it in the past, and the same goes for next year. To me it's a prick of a low act to make demands on an opposition club and their supporters to give up what they are entitled to.

It's just hilarious that dopes like you can't see the hypocrisy.

I would not have objected to, the semi final being moved to where ever, for the good of the game, IF the nrl, had stated at the start of the season, that it was going to happen, not just to the Drgaons and river snakes but to any club.

This season, has not yet seen its conclusion, so with the benefit of hindsight, the nrl, can now formulate policy, stating that any game next season, can and will be moved as required, when and if required to accomadate, the growth of the game.

Willow and any other aging supporter, surely you all remember, way back in the day, when the Dragons, OWNED the S.C.G. How many years was it, that they never played at Kogarah, due to the match of the round

Lol i believed the shirt story was true and i dont believe your bullsh*t statement your club released thats for sure

lol. Well, that's confirmation enough that you're not too bright. You believe the tabloids.

But probably only when it suits you.

What was your view of the tabloid media's handling of the Coffs rape allegations?

I agree.

The main problem has always been that they wanted to move the goal posts one week beforehand.

It has to be set out at the beginning of the year and be applicable to all.

In my view, the larger issue is with the tail wagging the dog. It was the game's 50% owner that was pushing this agenda.

Moving with little notice would not have generated the crowd figures that people were suggesting. Not all the 18K at Kogarah would have magically reappeared at the SFS and not all the opposition supporters and 'neutrals' would have adjusted to the News Ltd timetable.

All things considered, I think a crowd of 20,000-25,000 would have been possible at the SFS. Not enough to justify the move, and it would piss everyone else off, including ground sponsors at Kogarah and members (long term revenue streams).

But it was probably enough to deliver News Ltd a small windfall.

In 2010, we will possibly see a situation where the NRL will only move games that stand to make a tidy profit for News Ltd.

Well we still played at Kogarah but yes, we owned the SCG. Long time ago feral. Completely different landscape.

it will most likely be a friday night game. transferring it to anz you will not get more than 30K. it is in march so the september fans will not be there. there were more saints fans at parra stad when we played them in April.

If the NRL is serious about improving crowds than this game will be played Sunday afternoon, as well as any other games between the Dragons, Rabbitohs, Tigers, Eels, Bulldogs. The NRL should also hold the right to move these games as well and not leave the decision up to the club.

But as we all know Gallop is a gronk so im sure it will be a Friday night game.
