Souths keen on Peachey
June 21, 2005
SOUTH Sydney have expressed an interest in signing veteran Cronulla fullback David Peachey.
Sharks chief executive Steve Rogers and coach Stuart Raper are aware of Souths' interest and will meet today to discuss Peachey's future.
Rogers has also heard rumours Souths may talk with prop Jason Stevens.
Peachey's manager Daryl Mather revealed: "Souths have expressed an interest in several players, including David Peachey."
Peachey, 31, has been a 12-year stalwart at Cronulla.
"I've heard the rumblings [about Souths]," Rogers said.
"We haven't formalised anything. I will be meeting with Stuart to talk about a few players and we will also talk about David.
"I don't want to expand too much more on it."
