Now he's useless.

.

I'd hardly say he is useless, he is 19 and has a lot to learn and also has some great players to learn from ie Cayless
19 is very young for a prop and while I would agree he hasn't set the world on fire, I still believe he has a lot to offer and am extremely happy to have him at the club.

Tsoulos useless? I think some people assume that because he is not standing out as much as he was when he first hit the scence, it means he is crap.

I'm not saying he's playing the best footy possible but he is still playing well and will be a big part of our future plans. He has a great tackle technique and makes plenty of yards. Give the kid ago. If Smith drops him and he goes down into Prems we have to hear you whingeers say how great he is and how he should be in firsts like the rest of the Prems team.

By the way didn't i read in another post someone stating that forwards dont come of age till about 24 or 25?

His last two games, and particular his Warriors game has been much better. I think there was a period where he was injured and not playing his best, but I still think he's going to be in the mix next year.

oh my goshies, i forgot about vella !! our pack next year is monster ! vella just needs to improve his d and increase his workrate and he'll be worth the 250k/year we're paying him.

i agree cayless has been awesome at secondrow when fit, the only reason i put him in as prop is coz he's one of our only forwards who can consistently break the line instead of going backwards - and with hindy being an 80 min player, i wanted to put wagon in somewhere.

but if i was smithy, this is what i'd go for !

8. cannings
9. riddell
10. vella
11. hindy
12. cayless
13. morrison

bench: widders/afamasaga/morris/stringer

actually come to think of it that'll never happen. smithy would at least put another prop on the bench seeing as he likes to interchange 2 at one time. furthermore there ain't no wagon in that line up, and i dont see him putting wagon as a centre. he loves wagon too much to cut him.

it might actually be better to put cayless back as prop. then u could do a cannings/cayless combo opening up and stringer/vella replacing them after 20.

otherwise we'd have too much talent at 2nd row and lock with: widders/afamasaga/riddell/wagon/morrison all being able to play in only 2 positions. (im assuming hindmarsh will play 80 mins per game, he's too good not to !)

Agree, could be anything.

Then maybe he shouldn't have been playing.

That approach can cost games.....and semi-final positions.

I dont know why he played similar to Vella, grothe, dykes. They play a majority of their games injured. Its bullshit but we are eels fans.

I mean he played injured when he shouldnt have. But as eels fans we get used to it

i would even agree with Smithy on this one???

you do need 2 props on the bench and the bench you named is severely lacking in size, particularly when both Cannings and Vella would HAVE to come off for extended periods????

Don't get me wrong. I really like Tsoulos, and the prospect of Tsoulos.

But earlier in the year, he broke tackles, offloaded and put on big hits in defence.

Recently though, he just doesn't seem able to offload or break ackles. His defence is still good though.

I'm of the opinion that someone of that size with that leg drive should break tackles more often, or at least carry himslef with his defenders on top of him forward.

He seems to stop as he is getting tackled. He doesn't seem to be getting over the advantage line anymore, which in the long term hurts our go forward.
