Vella asking

More like begging [-o<

if Parra are smart they will only resign him to 1/4 of his current contract or even let the soft one go.

If Hindy is as important to us as Sterlo was! Caylo is as vital to this team as Pricy was!

eelevation i agree with your sentiments and they are good comparisons

Excuse me.........I did not question his worth.........I simply asked what I thought
was a polite bloody question.

If that's the way you treat everyone who visits your board then you can get stuffed.

and fish eel,

i don't think you are off the track about the Vella comment???

when this happened before Cayless, Hindmarsh and Vella (and Lyon) were sort of all re-signed as a package and a big deal was made in a similar fashion as what has been done (or is being done with Cayless and Hindmarsh)

i can't see it happening with Vella this time - iknow he is a favourite son, but to be fair dinkum his form just does not warrant it and with Cannings, Stringer, Robinson, Tsoulos, Peek and even Fui Fui all still around next year his spot and even position at the club may well be in serious jepoardy????

he was rumoured to have been linked with the Tigers earlier in the year????

well the question was alright, but when you changed it from Vella to Cayless and added begging......that will do me!!!!!

and it was you or another Panthers supporter who suggested in another thread that re-signing Vella and Cayless was great for the rest of the league becuase they are hopeless.....

well we are discussing Vella's worth, but no one and i mean no one here or who supports Parra are questioning Cayless' worth......

and sorry to offend, but when making such suggestions i'm sure others would reply with similar vigour

As much as I think both Wags and Vella are great clubmen, I can't find a spot for them in my top 17. I agree that Morrison is as good a defender as Wags but offers more in attack and I don't think we need two players of that ilk in the team. I can't even find a spot on the bench because we're going to need an interchange hooker with Riddell and a spot for Widders and then you need two props. I still think Cayless has been a sensation at second row and I'd like to keep him there.

My pack would be:
8. Cannings
9. Riddell
10. Robinson
11. Cayless
12. Hindmarsh
13. Morrison
Bench: Widders, Morris, Stringer/Vella, Moimoi/Tsoulos

sorry, but i'm passionate about the big captain, he is my favourite eel and a great player and i genuinely believe we would not have had so many problems the last two years if he had spent more time on the field

Fair dinkum it seems impossible to have a civil conversation with parra fans.

The reason I asked the simple and polite question about Cayless..........
was because I read the story which said it was him going to the club to ask
for the extension to the contract, and not the club asking him, and I just
wondered what you thought about it.

I don't see one word in my post which hinted at anything at all, let alone
an insult about his talent.

I did not add "begging" to anything. That was a comment by a parra fan.

and it was you or another Panthers supporter who suggested in another thread that re-signing Vella and Cayless was great for the rest of the league because they are hopeless.....

I have NEVER made a comment like that about any player from any team........EVER.

This is I think the third time that I have posted on this board trying to pose a simple
question in a light hearted manner, and been ridiculed and abused without question.

This will be my last.

Oh and go and read any post that I have made here or on any other forums............
and then feel guilty.........because you should.

Amongst all this talk of props for next year, it funny how the regard for Tsoulos has dropped, and not surprisingly

At the start of this year year, we were all hailing his praises, and now at the end of the year, hes not really in anyone's team for next year

And neither should he be

He is not much more than a Corey Pearson clone ATM

He runs to the line, does not break the line, and when he tries to hand off, more often than not, he turns the ball over. His work rate is too low

He has gone backwards this season, and to me has been a huge disapointment.

Agreed.

Another of our forwards lacking motivation and enthusisam.

It seems to be a disease down there.

Is there a doctor in the house???

That's a very, very harsh assessment of a 19 yr old prop. He is a bit soft at times- hopefully they'll toughen him up in the off season.

I think Tsoulos is feeling the effects of a long season in first grade personally. He started well but has dropped off as the season progressed. He played a few games last year and with all due respect had Cannings, Cayless, Pearson and Peek been fit or not suspended for long lengths of time I doubt he would have figured so much in first grade unless his form warranted his selection. At 19, and carrying a shoulder injury for the latter part of the season he has done OK but not stood out.

What the hell happened to him?

At the beginning of the season, he was a human wrecking ball - he took it up hard and staright and broke tackles, and he even hit quite hard in D too.

Now he's useless.

I am so disappointed - I saw great things for Tsoulos. And now I don't see him doing anything great at all.
