Then those walking away have little to no idea what will be when the players and coaches play the game to the rules without wrestling, abusing officials, consistently being off side etc etc etc. Cheating basically. f**k off I say to them.

Next stop... piss the interchange off and we'll have an incredible game back again.
Here we go, sydneycentric thinking

Maybe we should start fining players $1000 for each blatant indiscretions. $10,000 if your on a million plus a year. $100,000 for the coach if your player is binned. I'm sure this would fix all the bullsh*t in the game quick smart lol.

What is this too harsh ;)

I have no problem with a crackdown in those areas, it is the offsides that they are being too pedantic with and over policing which is slowing the game down more than wrestling ever could.

Teams have been pushing the boundaries in that area for 110 years and the fact the result of the play in most cases wouldn't be different if the defender was standing 50cm further back and/or left the mark half a second later makes the penalties seem superfluous and it ruins the flow for no reason.

I think you’ll find it’s more than 50cms that players are creeping forward by when they get pinged. How many games do you hear the crowd yell ‘get em onside’(or even the commentators)? It’s plenty in my experience & is generally because defenders are well inside the 10. Anyway, from both games on Friday how many offside penalties for a 50cm creep were called on Friday? I’d be surprised if it’s more than 3 out of the 50 or so penalties given.

Mate. I heard that from Brisbane fans at my first suncorp game. I was sitting behind the goal posts.
I hear that every game and you can see that people are just looking at the ref and seeing if they are inline, not that the ref is going back 12 from the play the ball. (that being said tonight Brails was getting pinged for being offside and he was offside every damn time)
i have no issue with the backchat penalties. But some of the penalties were literally done to make a point from greenberg.

I dont like the man, but ill pay that.
But at the same time, i also agree with Andrew Johns.

Love how the media says fans are split on their opinions regarding the refs. Reading comments on any story regarding tonight’s game, I would say that about 90% of comments were in favour of the refs.

Let's see how quick teams will adjust.

I will say 2 more rounds. It will be painful but good in the long term.

We gave away 10 in the first half, 4 in the second - so maybe we took notice.

Well, it’s up to the players now. If they haven’t cottoned by now that the refs are serious, they deserve to be pinged.

I’m all for enforcing the 10 to the letter. The problem is an entire generation of players have been brought up on the “mark it at 12 and let em creep in front” bullshit that Finch, Harrigan, and Archer created and they are lost.

There are plenty more examples of those types of adjustments made by those dolts I’m the name of a “free flowing” game, and now they want to get the genie back in the bottle

Maybe 20 points towards a suspension? (excluding high shots etc that already get their own points)

Prepare yourselves to see a whole lot more milking.
It had gone out if the game for a while, but if last night is any indication, it's back.
And the whistle happy refs will blow them all day long in favour of the milker.

Have to feel that the play-the-ball enforcement is long overdue. However some of the other penalties are not so good. In fact pedantic. If they (refs) haul back the other myriad of penalties I'm still ok with the play the ball with foot enforcement. It's important. Just don't think the coaches/players have worked their tactics to use this to effect in a game situation yet.

Nail on head.

And johns saying a penalty is given for a discretion not on the side of play.....perhaps creeping up on one side takes the option out of that play, joey? If any player is offside while the ball is still in the ruck, then it has to be penalised. Doesn't matter what side the play eventually goes.

I understand the commentators are getting frustrated too but an offside player is an offside f**king player
