Nah, not quite.

 back to the old stats I guess.

Wing makes 81.6 metres per game, buderus 99.5 (through less hitups).

Wing 2 try assists, buderus 5 (again, heaps less games).

Wing and buderus average the same amount of linebreaks.

Gower won nothing in 2003.

Firstly, that was when Johns was playing with a back injury.

Secondly, I seem to remember Johns being responsible for about 5 shallackings handed out to a Gower-led Penrith, and two or three close games as well (including rd 1 2004, where we beat you, and this year, where we beat you again). So yeah, the schooling only occurs when Johns thoroughly outplays Gower, which happens 95% of the time.

If you wish to use stats, I can mount a fairly good argument to say Farah is the best hooker in the game. Stats are not the be all and end all.

Having said that, Buderus is the best hooker in the game. He's true worth comes from watching the game. Rarely, very rarely does Buderus take a wrong option. That's all you need to say. Anyone that knows the game can tell he's the number 1.

I agree 100% mate, it's just Pantherjim asked us to have a look at the stats, just a shame he lied about 99% of it.

And on Robbie Farah, great player. If he continues as he is playing now, he could easily be one of the better hookers of the modern time, probably better than buderus... He's got a great kicking game which buderus doesn't really have anymore, but right now, buderus is without peer.

I think Both will scrape into the 8 if injuries are kind (yeah, I am looking at you, Johns). Both, although lacking Depth across the board, have enough style in the key positions to be competitive. Fringe players I expect to make an impact this year are Thaiday and Pritchard. Newcs about 8th if Joey is fit, Panthers 6th.

For everyone reading this thread, Bluesbreaker was right and I was wrong. I totally misread the Stats. I forgot to look at the season averages, and rather stupidly looked at only the season totals. I also forgot to take into account that Danny Buderus has only played 15 games compared to Priddo's 23.

To Bluesbreaker I apologise. It wasn't a case of lying or being dishonest, it was just a case of skimming over the stats, instead of reading them properly, being a goose, getting totally excited about it and posting my conclusions in here without any thought as to reading the stats properly.

To anyone else I've misinformed in here, I also apologise. Again, it's not a case of being dishonest, It's just that I misread the stats.

Nonetheless, I still haven't changed my opinion. Priddo is a brilliant hooker and deserves a chance at Rep level for both the Blues and Australia.

Are you kidding? Are you talking about the Sharks, or the Knights? Knights have huge depth for next year, we have basically an entire first grade team sitting in Premier League waiting for injuries. If Johns goes down, we're proper f**ked, but no team functions without their playmaker. To say we have no depth is ludicrous.

(btw Pantherjim, takes a big man to admit his errors, good stuff)

Phew! Thanks... just so long as no one is sore at me for sprouting misinterpreted sh*t, then all is well.

Sometimes I let my sentiments as a Penrith supporter and my appreciation of Luke Priddis (he is my favourite player) cloud my better judgement and factual/statistical interpretation.

Both Priddo and Bedsy are fantastic hookers, but being a Penrith supporter I guess I'm a little biased. ;-)

Heh, my eyes kind've lit up when I thought you were fibbing me, I thought "I'll have this dude!", but alas, everyone makes mistakes :).

Priddis is a great hooker, no doubt. I think he's neck and neck with Cameron Smith as the next best right after Bedsy, I just don't think Buderus has done anything to warrant losing his spot in NSW or Australia.

Buderus has had an incredible season given what he's had to work with (Priddis has too), shame Gowey took Priddis' spot as a supporting Hooker, but I guess Priddis isn't as versatile.
