Elliott has issues with hookers doesn't he. Screwed Priddo around all last year. Pissed Aiton off this year and took way way too long to give Iosefa a go.
Actually the further I look the less its isolated to hookers. He just has issues with rugby league players.

Elliott plays his favourites.

He never liked Aiton or Masada, but dropped Priddis at the wrong times due to the wrong reasons.

He persisted with Smith all year. Not saying Smith is a bad player, but he has been in and out of form the same as other players, who got dropped back to the bench at the drop of a hat.

His game plans were such that the key strike player in the side, Michael Jennings never saw the ball in space at all until Wade Graham made the step up and started standing deeper in attack and feeding him decent ball.

Luke Lewis always was and always will be a 'makeshift' half back, but Elliott saw his move to half as a stroke of genius on his part and just can't seem to get it through his thick head that Lewis isn't a half back.

Panthers management never have been able to admit they they have made mistakes. When a director dares to speak his mind, they stack elections and punt them. The resignation of Col Bentley speaks for itself. My mail is Brandy is not happy with the club.

I've supported the team for over 30 years, and I've had just about a gutsful of what's been going on.

Ps. If I put this comment on Panthers Interactive, the thread would have been locked, the comment deleted and no PM sent to explain why. They simply won't entertain any negative feedback from the fan base on their website.

A team with the talent that Penrith has/had should have finished no less than top 4 this year. Any fan out there that understands the game of Rugby League and the politics of clubs and boards of directors would see where I'm coming from.

Top 4 was never on the cards in 08. We won 6 out of the first 10 to our credit, mainly due to playing against weak opposition like souffs, dogs, the away team warriors and cowboys. Top 8 would be a reasonable achievement for a team coached by Elliot and an improvement on last year. Talent means nothing if not utilised properly or given the right balance, most clubs have plenty of talent, its about the right balance and mix of youth and experience. We do not have the consistency to win enough games to make the top 4. Simple as that. Only Petero and Gordon I'm not sure about who else are playing well week in, week out, need alot more than that. Potentially we have the talent to make top 4, but potential means nothing in reality.

Petero and Gordon are consistent because they are playing in position and don't get duck shoved around. Petero gets plenty of ball when he wants it.

Gordon is just a quality player.

We have other quality players that are inconsistent because of reasons beyond their control.

If we'd had Tim Sheens as coach since the 1980's we probably would have made half a dozen Grand Finals and won 3 or 4 premierships.

I just hope regardless of where we end up on the table this season that Elliott is given his marching orders. Leary needs to grow some big fat hairy balls and make the tough decisions and forget about the old dinosaurs on the board.

I couldn't have said it any better

Richie and/or Joey Williams should have been given a better chance IMO by Illiott.

His structured unimaginative game plan did not suit the style of either player, which left us with no inventive halves in Lewis and Blair/Graham.

No FG standard kicking game and Luke Priddis occupying the #9 in front of Aiton and Masada virtually for the whole season due to blatant personality issues and favourtism.

Paulo should have been given more chances as well, but was unlucky with injuries.
Joe Williams was given hardly any chance.
He has one bad game and thats it gone to Windsor.
Look at Priddis he has been having bad games all year and yet he is named in the side week in week out.

Most coaches are just ex-players. They aren't HR experts. Elliott clearly has problems managing his playing roster. Management needs to step in, listen to the fans and do something about it.
Thats right.
I think clubs are just appointing these coaches just because they used to play.
In another 20 years time clubs would be appointing Tim Smith they dont care about his drinking history or lack of knowledge of the game.
Just simply because he used to play.
