Opinion Penrith

The fact Penrith had a number of tries disallowed does make me think they were the better side. Parra didn’t really look like scoring until that set where their momentum was stolen in some dirty pool from Penriths coaching staff. They have a right to feel aggrieved but they also missed many other opportunities.
With the benefit of getting to see my team go around next week this is pretty much how I see it. The thing I find a bit tiresome is the airplay a single incident gets because of the time of the game. The Luai no try decision was an offside Moses making a defensive decision to launch himself at Burton after he was through the line yet it doesn't rate a mention. In the game day thread the consensus was it was a smart play by Moses, which the way the rules are interpreted is probably right. I don't see what the trainer did as much different. Dirty pool is dirty pool in the first or last minute.

No one is saying that. They are saying that an opportunity was taken away from them, which it was. I'd be annoyed if it was the other way around. The narrative from some sections of the media implying that it decided the game is far fetched though.

Precisely.

It's hardly like having a match winning try pulled up on the last play of the game when the touchie pulls up a perfectly fine pass as forward or anything.

It seems like some are acting like the iffy move by the trainer is the equivalent to what Herbert did last week.

Parra threw the ball to a prop near the line with a minute to go. The way the game had been played up until the stoppage didn't suggest the overlap was suddenly going to be exploited.

Melbourne on the other hand would have been over in the corner.

I just call it a joke! The NRL said that players indulging in this would be charged with contrary conduct. Could anything have been more blatant?

What did you think of JFH staying down to get the penalty for a marginal tackle off the ball?

I mean JFH was replaced straight after the hit. It must of hurt as you don’t see him stay down in much heavier hits.

Not in the same realm as Ferguson. He went off straight after the hit.
It's just not as theatric. The end result is the same still, penalty for a nothing incident.

The only arguable point is if it hurt more that the phantom crusher. I'm sure it probably did, but plenty of perfectly legal tackles hurt. I'm just sick to death of milking, I'll call it how I see it even if it's my team doing it.

Personally, I don’t mind the milking; if a player is fouled they have the right to stay down and get the benefit of it.

What I am sick of are two things; referees who won’t call anything (Klein looking straight at Sorensen as he was hit across the snow and then not calling the penalty as a prime example) as this means people will stay down. Second, referees/the bunker giving a penalty straight way when someone stays down.

Just ref the game!!

Are Panthers ever not "bending" the rules? this lot is starting to make Storm look like angels.

yeah hopefully he doesnt get the GF gig

But you can't tell me that Cleary didn't f**king know where to place the ball also?
If it gives you a reason to hate Penrith, then, yes, Nathan knew exactly where to place the ball...in fact he had it placed in front of the posts originally before the bunker alerted Sutton
