scum as far as im concerned

But then again there ARE some people on ebay who might have had a friend bail on them, or just for some other reason they can't make it. They're well within their rights to start the bidding at $20 and let people who really want a ticket to bid as high as they want.

But that argument has a counter argument -

When the ligit people sell their tickets on ebay they should set the starting price as a Buy-it-now option at the price they paid for the ticket plus the fees amount that ebay charge, that way they are not gaining money from scalping and they are not out of pocket from the ticket.

raider 69 is 100% right

scalping is like scabbing
the 'accidently bought 10 tickets man' should be taken to court by the nrl
and qld should introduce the victorian law to stop future low acts like this one

No they aren't. They must sell them at no more than their face value.

Ebay you can sell at fixed price. Put it up at the face value of the ticket.

If you buy a house for $100,000 and then 2 years later the "demand" for a house in your area goes up and you sell the house for $200,000 are you a scab/criminal?

Are these guys prebuying the finals tickets 2 years before they even knew what teams were playing?

That's not illegal. That's called investment.

Selling tickets for more than their face value is illegal if it's specified in the terms & conditions of buying the ticket.

Anyone with half a brain would go back to ticketek with the tickets, explain hand them back and get their money back. Then those seats would be available again.

Or just give them to a friend, they may offer to pay for them (at no more than the cost price obviously).

Then again I'm sure the people who'd use ebay wouldn't know any real people.

Well the Cowboys shouldn't have allowed Season Ticket Holders to be able to buy 10 tickets per Season Ticket.

This guy/girl sounds a bit dodgy, but they must have been pretty determined to get their hands on ten tickets. And I know it's unfortunate that someone is making money on the passion and commitment of fans to their team but it's not illegal...just frowned upon.

Ohhhh well. Can't wait till the game. I got the couch ready.

Not everyone on Ebay can set their auctions to 'buy it now'
You have to have a certain number of positive feedback.

Well $255 would've been worth it if you were a cowboys supporter. (note: I don't support scalping)

It is illegal. When you buy tickets, you are agreeing to the terms & conditions, which prohibit you from selling the tickets for more than face value.

But everyone can set up a "fixed price" sale.

The problem with this is that, unfortunately, anyone with half a brain would know that Ticketek have a strict policy about not giving refunds.
