No Code? Bwahahahahaha

It has nothing on Ten, Vs and the album that is too often forgotten but is superb Vitalogy. Nothing against No Code, it's okay, but not their best.
I don't think there is really a "perfect" Pearl Jam record - Ten and Versus are overrated, Vitalogy is as close as it gets but fails because of the debacle of a song "heyfoxymama..." is - what a waste of space that song is. The other albums are good, but there are songs I certainly skip...

And I'll hear no bad words of Wilco (being alt. country and all) - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is about as perfect as an album gets.

I don't know if you'd call it the perfect album, but if you want a musical experience unlike any other you've had, I strongly recommed listening to Mr Bungle's self titled 1991 album- 10 tracks in all, but every song is completely different, and 70 minutes of pure genius! Mike Patton is awesome!

I hope your not mocking me sir!! :D

He's a classic.
My pencil thin moustache and blown out flip flops would never mock the great man who is living and dying in 3/4 time.

There is enough room for sir Jimmy buffet in everyone's cd collection.

An old fisherman got me onto him and I will always listen to him.

Mooloolabah's Hog's Breath cafe had a whole shrine devoted to him.

Faith No More - The Real Thing
Faith No More - Angel Dust
The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium
Metallica - Ride the Lightning (although I probably prefer KEA)
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Venom - Black Metal

I don't find any filler or them.

Pantera - Vulgar display of Power
Motley Crue - Dr Feelgood
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Faith no More - King for a day
Black Sabbath - Paranoid

The first one I always think of when all time greats are mentioned. Every song a classic and spawned/influenced a genre I'd be lost without.

Not sure of Sabbath's influence on the Crue but Faith No More were huge Sabbath fans, the drummer even filled in for them when Bill Ward wasn't up to it and said it was dream come true. Metallica (mainly Lars) were hugely influenced by the NWOBHM which Sabbath opened the door for. Slayer and Pantera are other bands that sight the mighty Sabbath as an influence and they've both covered more than 1 of thier songs and that is just the band on your list, they influenced many more.

Without doubt it's a masterpiece, not only for the music which is still great to listen to, but the legacy it left.

Im my opinion, Paranoid by Black Sabbath is THE perfect album.

Sorry, but Planet Caravan is absolute trash. The one great, hideous scar on an otherwise perfect album.

Sacrilege Dread, sacrilege!!!!!!!!!!!

Planet Caravan is certainly different but I love the dominant bass line.

And it's atmospheric which is generally the thing that 'gets' me when it comes to music.

I am going to have to retract Ride the Lightning from this list after realising that terrible song 'Escape' is on this album. I don't think any Metallica album is 'perfect' actually. KEA really has no filler, but not many people like it, and Master of Puppets has 'The Thing That Should Not Be', crap song.

Planet Caravan is one of the best songs on the Paranoid album!!!! Toni Iommi's guitar work at the end is amazing.

Kill em All is my favourite metallica album but I don't think it is perfect. none of their albums are.

I think Pantera's Vulgar display of Power is pretty close to perfect.
