i'm 6'5 and in 2.5years i have bulked from 75kg to 100kg.

although i still look skinny as shit and my lifts are all still weak - all under 100kg, bench only 75 :(

i think i must have low testosterone/shit genetics combined with shoulder injuries

in saying that. it has still been worth it

Mangaged to crack my first sub-6 min mile today :D

5:54 to be exact on the last of my 4 x 1 mile repetitions I've been doing to build my 10km speed.

Ran the Sydney Harbour 10k yesterday... Finished in 39:25, with a 19:25 5km split. Thats a 5 min PB on the 10K time and a 90sec PB on the 5km time :D

Also my first ever time running sub-4 min kms over any meaningful distance. Really stoked, and pumped to try and break an hour maybe in the City2Surf in a month :)

Yeah I really wasn't expecting it!

Was aiming for about 42-43 mins, but just went out in what I thought was way too fast a pace but managed to keep it up for the entire race.

Its funny how being surrounded by a whole bunch of fast runners can really drag you along in a race setting

That's pretty good, that's around where most professional Soccer players are. The guys who usually test the highest are of course endurance athletes, cross country skiers go well too. Highest recorded in Aust is Cadel Evans though, his is 87ml.kg.min

Thanks mate.

I race road bikes and probably log 250-300km a week, so endurance should be fairly high.

It was an intense thing to do, though. Came very close of vomiting and passing out.

If you nearly pass out or vomit, then you're doing it right.

Did you do it on a treadmill or a cycle ergometeter?

Cycle ergometeter. Set it up exactly like my road bike and off I went. It was a little weird breathing only through your moth with a snorkle thing in your mouth.

Yeah that sucks, but you get used to it. They're a bitch to put together though.

I've only done a sub maximal tests for V02 done PWC 170 both using the Douglas bags and just going off heart rate. Mine predicted V02 max was pretty unimpressive compared to yours, it around 57ml.kg.min. I get to do a treadmill V02 max test for uni next year and most people get a higher V02 max on treadmill than on the cycle ergometer.

57 is definitely above average, so nothing wrong with that.

I couldn't do it on a treadmill at all. I assume the treadmill gets quicker and quicker?

Yeah it's the same as the cycle ergometer in the sense the goal is to to keep increasing the power output until you get to your V02 max, they do a submax test first both to determine what your speed should be and when you reach V02 max (because you can you aerobic sources for energy you can keep going at a higher output after V02 max).
