super league was never the idea of news ltd. Super league ended up taking whatever Sydney clubs it could get despite them being amongst the weakest in Sydney (dogs excepted)

Murdoch wanted the pay tv rights which had been given to packer for free

Easts along with Manly, were the first Sydney teams invited to join SL. What Politis was beginning to do with Easts sat within their ethos on how a club should be run.

Early 90's being dominated by expansion teams while game boomed showed importance of foundation teams was not that great anymore. Yep. I'd have easts tigers too. Broncos as a business should look to protect it's own interests. Up to NRL to find a way to include more Brisbane teams (which they did successfully with dolphins). Crushers were a joke without a hope of competing with Broncs..
