First game must be in Perth. I'll give Billy a bit of pass, because he's probably been on the sauce today (or just hyped). But Perth are the future of this club and its in the interests of bears fans that the Perth public feels like this is their team.

Not that I think it's likely that the NRL will allow it. But if Perth rejects this team and it folds, the team isn't being moved back to North Sydney. Bears fans should soak it in, cause it is truly an historic day. But I hope level-heads and realism come quickly, before they botch an important expansion area for the NRL. Other expansion areas will be weary if they do.

100%.
First and foremost, this is WA's team. This isn't North Sydney reborn and playing most home games in Perth as some kind of favour to WA.

And honestly, the NRL should fixture in a mid-range supported team for that first ever premiership game. It's going to get a sellout 60,000 anyway, so save the blockbusters for later in the season. Not that Perth will have any immediate rivals anyway. Only the NthSydney contingent will see Roosters, Manly, and Souths as ready-made rivals, based on their history against them.

I also wouldn't make the Warriors the Round 1 team either. Too many proud and loud kiwi expats over here and it might not be the best look to have the new team's opposition getting cheered loudly in their first ever game.

As a nod to the past (since that's where most of the focus is on at the moment, but in relation to NthSyd's involvement), maybe make Round 1 vs St.George-Illawarra, since Round 1 1995 was Reds vs Dragons.

Yeh first game in Sydney will be a bad look even if it would sell out Allianz

Manly v pb could be the game for Optus then a low drawing game like cowboys be the one held in Sydney

100%, but with how big the Saints fan base is it better to go something left field and build a rivalry - Titans?

I did think of Gold Coast before I decided upon mentioning the Reds first premiership game. It's a rare thing to see Titans gear in every day Perth (away from the local League scene). You'd be pretty much guaranteed to get 59,700 Perth fans and maybe 300 Gold Coast fans to that Round 1 game if that was the match-up. Pretty much every other club has more supporters over here ... even Dolphins who are only in their 3rd season have more here already.

Round 1 at optus versus foundation club souths, mario rings the bell

round 2/3 at sfs versus manly, million dollar gate

Round 4/5 at hbf versus whoever

Later in year, one game at nso, maybe sydney club but nso does need some money invested, went recently ground uneven, paint pealed, corporates aged. Will galvinise support

just my opinion/ dream

Been said before but the Bears wouldn't disadvantage themselves against their bitter rivals by sticking themselves on a long flight and letting Manly stay home in comfort

If Manly have any commercial ambition they will move at least their 2027 home game against the Bears from Brooky to Allianz

I guarantee Perth's biggest rival will be Melbourne.
I think this as week, VIC are the traditional rivals like NSW v QLD, the Western Reds were folded to create the Melbourne Storm, VIC v WA has virtually played every Final of the CAS rugby league Championships.
As for the Bears first game in WA, I’m thinking the Sharks or the Wests Tigers.
Fans that don’t really travel, Titans was also a great choice.
Players we should target, all of them lol, I’d like to see players with a connection: Kaeo Weekes (Raiders, Asquith junior NSB), Jacob Preston (Bulldogs, NSB NRL pathways), Robert Tioa (Roosters, NSB NRL pathways), Allan Fitzgibbon (Titans, NSB NSW Cup), Josh Rogers (Broncos, North Beach Sea Eagles junior WA), Royce Hunt (Tigers, Willagee Bears junior WA), Matt Arthur (Knights, if Brad Arthur gets the coaching gig), Jonah Pezet (Storm, if/when Jahrome Hughes resigns).
Plus target former Central Coast juniors, Perth and the Central Coast have so many similarities, it’d be like a home away from home, somebody like Nicho Hynes, who has family in Perth has already said that he likes the anonymity of Perth, and he would be away from the Sydney media fishbowl.
Kalyn Ponga would be good having been born in Perth.
That’s two marquee players Hynes & Ponga plus other very affordable players.
If Ponga signs then Connor Watson (Roosters) is a possibility as they are very close mates.
A few ageing forwards like the Saifiti Brothers Daniel (Dolphins) and Jacob (Knights) and Josh King (Storm) for their experience.
Anyway that’s my fantasy roster atm lol.

I'd have the Storm play them at Optus. The Storm a NRL team in an AFL stronghold against a Perth NRL team in an AFL stronghold. If history serves me correctly the Storm grabbed a number of Red's players in the early days(after the latter folded) .
Let's face it Melbourne & Perth are real city rivals .
Finally that would really grab National attention in not only Perth but Victoria and of course NSW /QLD and Canbraaaa. The ratings would be off the chart if programmed at a time slot friendly to all.
