Perth must get their own NRL side: Tallis

Which should come first?

A Perth side is a must.

Perth never wanted to join the federation in the first place! They have always wanted to secede from the federation. There is HUGE potential here for further international competition!

Imagine: Perth vs Australia! I think this is the future.

Now that Piers Ackerman and Miranda Divine have debunked climate science there is no need for concern that Perth will be unliveable in 30 years!

Perth is the future of rugby league, along with our integrity flag bearer, the Melbourne Storm :)

Perth should get one before Gosford. But I am not sure that will happen or even if the west will ever get another team.

Its all well and good to say hey lets plonk a team in Perth but how financially viable is it. Who's going to pour millions into it over the next 10-15 years (minimum) until the team can sustain itself.

with financial backing from News LTD it took the Cowboys around 10 years . Melbourne still aren't there, and have hit a massive speed hump.

News LTD won't fund Perth nor would people want them to make commitment to another 10 years in the NRL.

The Central Coast has to be more financially sustainable than Perth.

WA Minister for Sport and Recreation Terry Waldron hoped the venue would ultimately become a state-of-the-art facility capable of hosting up to 25,000 spectators.

With a name like that, how could they fail?

You're strugglin' Rockin'.

The mining super tax will fund it of course!

Perth & Central Coast should both come in for the 2013 season if the NRL can get their sh*t together.

To Simostorm - If you use that logic about a CC team you could use that for about half the Sydney teams too.

The difference being, those Sydney teams you talk about are already in the comp. The CC are not.

perth over cc, please
cc then perth, cc has a much more solid base than perth and you need a base before you build a building, which is why adelaide and perth failed in the first place. but i dont see why they cant admit perth in as long as the infrastructure is there, but central coast first. by the way ive been to me bank stadium to watch glory vs wolverhampton and it is a great stadium

Perth's population is a bit over 1.5 million, Townsville is 150,000.

Melbourne still need funding (they've only been there for a decade, if they're still getting extra funding after 30 years like the Swans/Lions then you can complain) but before their arrival RL was basically a foreign sport down there. They also have 10 AFL teams to directly compete against.

Whereas Perth already has juniors playing in the NRL and they only have two AFL teams to compete against. They already have grassroots support, they're the strongest state outside of QLD and NSW and they don't even have a football team!

Re-establishing the Reds won't be easy but it sure as hell won't be anything as hard as what the Storm have had to endure.

It will be like having a team in Darwin in 30 years!

I would love for there to be a Perth team. I think people will be surprised just how quickly it will be self sustaining.

Having Tallis backing a Perth team is not good for a vote.... It would probably sway people to vote the other way

Perth is a MUST.
Makes the game more national.
Better tv rights deals in the future - can only give the code and the clubs more money.
