I'd prefer the sharks were relocated about 100km east of where they are now.

Alice Springs wants a team...A quick name change from Sharks to Tadpoles put the swamp on the market, climb on the camel train. Alice Springs here Cronulla comes.

CC has an NRL standard stadium.

CC have sponsors in Mortage House, FoneZone, Sinalli, Norths Leagues, Fortunity, JJ Lawson, OOh Media!, NBN, ExCell Me, 2UE, StarFM, SEAFM, 2GOfm, Rebel Sports & Good Gear.

CC have essentially and potentially 2 NSW Cup feeder teams in North Sydney Bears & Central Coast RLFC.

CC have junior programs http://centralcoastbears.com.au/news/Central_Coast_Bears_Youth_Mentoring_Program.html among others.

CC have reached 2000 PAID memberships. Without having a team yet.

CC have had community support including the marches http://centralcoastbears.com.au/news/Central_Coast_Bears_On_The_March_In_Gosford.html, http://centralcoastbears.com.au/new...d_fans_to_show_their_support_for_the_nrl.html

CC have been going out into the community through the Gosford Show, to the games @ Bluetounge, school and junior league appearances.

CC have had support from Wayne Bennett, Gus Gould, Peter Sterling, Central Coasts Mayor Cr Chris Holstein, MP Joe Jockey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FAlhxJvKrg among others.

CC have been infiltrating the media with commercials on TV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHrebFUXRbM&feature=related and radio.

PERTH IS important but to say they or any other bid is ahead of the CCBEARS bid is ludicrous. www.centralcoastbears.com.au

As a qualified engineer I only deal with facts. And the facts are the CCBEARS bid is 2 years ahead of Perths and 5 years ahead of CQ.

Go the CENTRAL COAST BEARS... GO THE PERTH REDS!!!

3. Sharks to relocate to the central coast.

They've put no money into the area. Shown no commitment. Have no relevance with the CC.

The Bears have done all 3. Additionally no Bears no Bluetounge Stadium. Why do you think the seats near the field spells BEARS on them. We have been fighting tooth & nail for this. We decided to relocate to the CC in 99. We have offices set up in Erina. We deserve it.

The Sharks have had so many handouts in the past that it's just not fair to any other club anymore. If they can't survive on their own then pay the consequences that Norths, Wests, Balmain, Adelaide, Perth, Illawarra, Hunter & South Queensland had to. After all most of those clubs died so clubs like the Sharks could survive. Now 10years+ we realize that maybe in 98-00 it should have been the Sharks to die instead of area's like Perth & CC. Area's we are now tryin to get back after we had them once already.

Central Coast should merge with Sharks if they want in (admittedly I know little of the CC and if that's possible, but it might be good for both teams.) Also they might be the strongest team to come in, but also the least ambitious choice. And the NRL right now needs ambition

If worse comes to worse for the Bears, they can just change the A to an E on the seats and have the stadium sponsored by Bluetongue beer

While I believe Perth should have there own NRL team I have to ask is there room in Perth for another professional sporting team. They already have two AFL teams, a Super 14 team and an A-League team.

I read an article recently where the boss of Rugby League in South Australia said while he would love for Adelaide to have an NRL team he does not think it would survive. His thought is that Adelaide has more then enough professional sporting teams and they are all struggling financially.

I don't see Perth being a whole lot different to Adelaide.

For me the game blew its chance of making it in Perth back in the late 90's when they dumped the Reds from the competition. It was a dumb move. And one they will long regret making.

Isn't it pretty much a certainty that we will be getting two new teams in 2013? Both CC and Perth? Or have I been misinformed...

i'd be suprised if they didn't expand in pairs, one team means no more games to sell/a bye each week.

They said the same thing about the Western Force before they started and they haven't done so bad!

We have a decent fanbase (15-20,000imo start point)
We have a small but productive jnr development base (already producing NRL players) and a SG ball/ junior elite academy set up
We will have a very good stadium come 2013 and beyond
We open up a whole new market of 2million people for NRL and TV
We have some semi decent corporate support already and should be able to attract WA companies that want to promote into the lucrative NSW and Q'land market
Perth is very affluent with lots of disposable income
AFL is at max capacity in the city. You can't see Eagles play even if you want to and Dockers are heading the same way
NRL offers a better alternative to sports fans in the city than S15 does
Perth has heaps of Q'landers. NSW, Northern English and Kiwis in the city missing their RL
WA is the third strongest RL state in the country as witnessed by all the affiliated state championships we have won

To compare us to Adelaide where none of the above exist is insulting!

Bitter bitter supporter, every team has needed a help

Except the Sharks not only got help they then spat in the faces of those who helped them. Let me refresh your memories.

* At a point near their induction into the league they were already struggling for money when Manly stepped in and gave them a grant. When Manly and Norths split and the Northern Eagles reverted back to the Manly license. The Sharks VOTED AGAINST Manly's reintroduction... FACT

* During the early 90's the Sharks were again in financial trouble when the ARL stepped in and have them a grant.. They then turned their backs on the ARL and sided with SUPERLEAGUE... FACT

* They circled St. George for a long time during the merger years. Not to merge with them but to kill them off and recieve their best players incase of the scenario. They were against the St. George/Illawarra merger as they knew it would impact of their own region... FACT

* They wanted to do a mercy dash to the Central Coast 2 years ago not to relocate but to take 4 games there a year ONLY for the cash grab with no intentions of ever relocating. They would've kept the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks name playing 5 games at Shark Park and 4 at Bluetounge. While putting their case forward to the NRL that they should recieve the $8million CC relocation offer without relocating... FACT

CC have nothing to offer to the new TV rights. Perth does.
It’s an extra team in the comp meaning an extra game.. HOW THE **** does that not = TV money? So they’ll play the extra game for free all because it’s a CC team? You have no logic.

Unfortunately they are also another NSW team.
Yes but it’s also an untapped Rugby League adoring region. Soccer plans on building a state of the art excellence center on the Central Coast. AFL are making inroads in NSW now with a 2nd team. We had the chance to make the NRL the 2nd sport in S.A. & W.A. 10 years ago yet we decided to leave. Even if we put teams there now, we’ll have a fight on our hands with soccer, union and AFL franchises. If we leave the Central Coast bare the AFL, Union and Soccer will decimate it. If we lose the Central Coast as a league region, the damage will be irreparable to our code. They supply so many juniors that without them, League dies a lot in NSW. HENCE why we need a team there right now.
