This may have already been answered but will the clubs foundation date be listed as 1908 or 2027?
And will they have North Sydney’s 2 premierships or start on zero?
Yesterday and 0... Can't imagine the Perth locals being overly impressed with the east coast enforcing dumb demands from day 1.

Any idea on the question of foundation date and premiership tally for Perth?
Do clubs normally have foundation date as the date of their first official competition game or the date the club was launched/incorporated?

I guess if the latter the date will be 8th May 2025. If the former sometime March 2027.

Premiership tallies, that's for the Perth Bears Board and the NS board to agree on. Personally it doesnt feel like it should be as NS Bears will still exist playing in Sydney in NSW comps. Would have been different if theyd closed down in Sydney and moved the actual whole club to Perth. but thats just my thoughts.

When will Perth get a women's team into the comp? Or can we just relocate the Shark's girls to Perth?
It was asked at the launch and Abdo said they were very keen and were already looking at a Perth Bears NRLW side. We've produced a number of NRLW players already from WA.

Can I get a show of hands for which LU members will be Perth Bear members. Seems like there's a few of you who are born and bred or call WA home.

Will you jump off your current team, have them second fave or have Bears as second fave?
I will be a member, but will continue to be a member of Newcastle. I'm a devoted Novocastrian. Red and blue, through and through. But Perth Bears will be my 2nd team, for sure. I've been in Perth since I was a toddler, and was here in the Western Reds heyday. I'll be going for Perth every day of the year except when they play the Knights.

Magic does suit Brisbane perfectly but the NRL should absolutely follow through with their threat to move it if the QLD Government doesn’t play ball with infrastructure upgrades, particularly Suncorp.
I believe the GF should always be in NSW, but Magic Round is ours now. Completely agree though that the NRL need to pile on the pressure about getting Suncorp upgraded. It should always be the Premier venue in Queensland

Surely Perth Bears have the red & black hooped jersey, the history going back to 1908 with the two 'NRL' premierships, rivalry with Manly etc. Otherwise what's the point?

It's sport, not rocket surgery, I've no doubt that someone can find a way to reconcile it.

Manly don't care about the other side of the Spit Bridge, let alone a team in Perth using the logo of a team they merged with once

You'd think so but because North Sydney didn't relocate it's really a new club. I mean, even the Dolphins were made to pretend to be a new entity

I genuinely hope you're right. Anything less, and I gotta say, I'll be mighty disappointed.

I'm expecting at Optus Stadium in Round 1, 2027, a decent contingent of people coming across from Sydney to support the new team, and midway through the game, they start chanting "North Sydney, North Sydney" like they were doing when the Perth Bears were unveiled on Thursday morning. So long as it's light-heartedly, I'm okay with that. If it's done disrespectfully aimed at Perth people, which I don't expect it will be, but if so, there may be problems down the track.
