So which Sydney clubs are going to merge/relocate/die so that we can have a Perth team, another Queensland team and/or another New Zealand team?
Yeah, but it's still soccer, so there's plenty of money thrown around from them.Even women's soccer has a Perth team FFS.
I believe first up on expansion should be Papua New Guinea i mean its there national sport and out of a 6 mill population 2 million play let alone watch rugby league. It was also help rugby league build an international competetion that is stronger.
Next would be a Second New Zealand Team in Christchurch or Wellington to help the game grow in New Zealand.
Next has got too be perth.
Then if another it would be central coast.
I dont believe another qld is needed right away, the game is big there and another team can wait longer than the others.
South-East Qld is a better area to expand. It has not failed like Perth did before and QLD is booming at the moment. A 2nd Brisbane team would be on the cards as well. I'd rather the Sth East though.
NSW and Victoria have been propping up the rest of the country for decades through income tax distribution and GST!Nonsense! How many times have the Gc been given a bl**dy chance! I am sick and tired of parochial turds telling us in the west what we should and shouldn't do!
When the eastern states start propping up this country then you can speak! :x
Who knob you sucked as soon as his cronies entered BUrswood Casino with a wad of cash and headed straight past to roulette wheels to the Reds players in the bistro. All an agenda by Murdoch the prick.
Cowpats, Broncos, Titans and........Melbourne?Qld has enough already! You've got 4 teams ffs what more do you want? One in Mt Isa next? Give others a chance! :x
Miller, an Ipswich side has nowhere to play. Neither does a sunshine coast side, for that matter. A second brisbane side would be okay but why do that and risk ending up like sydney with too many teams that you cant really get rid of. Sunshine Coast and Ipswich are both growing fast but still arent near the population or corporate base of Gold coast or newcastle. They will get their soon, but they can also wait. I firmly believe that any new team should prove their worth like gold coast did. That means getting good solid crowds at at least 3 or 4 trial games a year.
I really think that Wellington and Christchurch should be next off the rank. Both have the juniors and would get decent crowds. It would also help the NZ game massively. I think they should start as soon as possible. After this, Perth is next in line, and they could still pass the kiwis if they work hard enough. But they need to get their finances right, get the game televised in the city and get trial games played their ro prove their is interest. The NRL should be helping with this in many ways, such as advertising heavily in perth, supporting and maybe even subsidising the advertising and running of the current reds. I wouldnt mind seeing them get a cut of the NRL Grant monies, even before they get accepted as an actual team in the NRL. Test matches or origin matches should also be played there over the next few years.
Not sure what impact on a bid the poor current state of the NZRL would have in any NRL decision?
Too early for Wellington. It's time for Central Coast & a possible PNG/WA combined team.
feck off turd. This thread =:lol:Not content with decimating NSW, the Perth lobby's having a go at Queensland now!

I think there is a massive argument for a 2nd NZ side. A very good one exists for another SEQ side. Only those ruled by fear of AFL, and those chronis supporters of 'Join The Dots' push for Adelaude and Perth. Would love to have 'em back - having served their pennance for trechery during the War. Trouble is, common sense suggests otherwise.
Anyway, there will only be one vacant spot once the Bears get back in.
IMO Adelaide will be the Sharks territory. Shire club adopted by Adelaide. Playing games in both locations and the club building support base and an improved financial base. That is the type of expansion we need. Not spend millions supporting new clubs. Happy to change the name to Southern Sharks if that makes sense to.
This type of solution supports expansion, protects existing clubs and ensures the long standing tribalism of Sydney football not only remains, but is adopted interstate.
It also ensures Shark haters can continue to get their daily fix at making feeble minded swipes at our club.
