Once again you ignore the widespread support all Sydney clubs have around Australia and in their district.
I haven't ignored it, I have acknowledged that the Bears have f#@k all supporters and I have acknowledged that at their peak in the 90's they had a very low ceiling of 15k fans. Manly is just as bad. So no, unless you are going to back your claim with stats then there is no evidence to suggest that there is widespread support that
all Sydney clubs have around Australia. The claim is just laughable.
You have factored in various different types of support . This is where you get things wrong. Support can be harnessed in various ways: eyeballs on TV, game attendances, talking about the code/game, buying merchandise of various types and forms, patronizing the league's club etc..... You just don't think these types of support matter. They do. They all add to relevance and divest income eventually at different times. You just don't see this in your 'world ".
Ok, let's see who are the biggeset clubs by your metrics traditionally:
TV Ratings:
Brisbane
Melbourne
Warriors
Dragons
Dogs
Eels
Souths
Game Attendances:
Brisbane
Souths
Newcastle
Warriors
Melbourne
Tigers
Dragons
Cowboys
Memberships:
Broncos
Souths
Eels
Storm
Cowboys
Dragons
Dogs (honourable mention because if they weren't so sh!t on the field right now they would be higher)
Talking about the code / game but not doing anything else:
F#@king irrelevant and does nothing for the clubs or the game
I don't see all Sydney clubs at the top of the game, I see a mix of Sydney and expansion clubs. This means that there are big clubs in the NRL and small clubs. This means that clubs like the Broncs, Souths, Warriors, Eels, Dogs, Storm & Dragons matter and have widespread support. The same stats show that not enough people care about Norths or Manly in their own district let alone around the country - lol.
If you want to ignore the actual data then go ahead, but just know that it doesn't make you right because..... feelings.
