Peter Tunks - Soward - Pearce.

So yesterday i was listening to Talkin' Sport as I usually do of an afternoon.

One more than one occasion when people called up to talk about Pearce or Origin, Tunks continually made snide remarks about how Pearce did not have the proper support from the number 6.

While he did acknowledge that Pearce had an average game, he went on about how Soward dissappeared at times and didn't support Pearce as 'anyone' else would have.

He was then talking about Carney coming back into Origin to play alongside Pearce.

Basically he hates the Dragons and Soward, and wants to cover Pearces face with his own man milk.

Why the love in with Pearce (other than the obvious)? Is he a distant relative or something?

Soward's key weakness is that he does dissappear from games at times, especially some of the big games. Soward would be the first to admit that himself, but the last season he has improved a lot in this area.
is saying that he still looked to be the only NSW back to trouble QLD with his footwork and passing game..
He will be a better player for the experience.

Actually this does warrant a thread. Because Peter tunks is an ansolute moron. He wouldn't know his ass from his elbow. His opinions are based on nothing. He is constantly wrong but refuses to back down because his ego is nearly big as the que of people that can't stand listening to him. He honestly has very little credibility as a football brain hence why he can't get a TV gig. He has made a mission of bagging soward. He gets stuck into him at every opportunity. He is incredibly biased and really should not be taken any notice of. He's a hack on a hack station with very little impact on anything to do with football.

It's a great shame that Graeme Hughes has to sit in the same studio as that imbecile. Would love him back in the big time... Now he knows his footy.

Don't waste your time worrying about Peter Tunks. He's a f**kwit of the highest order. He hates anyone and anything associated with the Saints. He's a f**king scum.

Hughes, Tunks and Robbo are all tools.

Tunks just wants to get his name in the papers some of these former forwards Tallis, Geyer, Roach and now Tunks don't have a clue they should just stick to retiring and shut up for good.

I wrote to Tunks yesterday using my full name and letterhead and gave him a spray
Godzy, some of us drive in the afternoons and listen to sporting shows whilst doing so
Tunks was attacking Soward and IMO, Soward is kid who tries his arse off and needs defending
Sowie and those close to Sowie are exposed or may be exposed in one way or another to his BS and it's unsubstantiated, false and malicious. Soward had tape on his arm with "run" and "believe" on it, in last club game. He does not need his confidence maligned but the likes ex-players who influence the opinion of NRL fans.
Tunks personal bias against the Dragons is long-held. For him to be derisive against the team or its fans is fine IMO but when he singles out a player and relates a story regarding his performance that is simply untrue and IMO deliberately malicious, it needs to be brought to the attention of as many as possible
Well done RedVScotty and Godzy for once I think you've gone off half-cocked and should consider retracting your comment

Soward had a solid series and improved with every game. Playing behind a beaten forward pack, he was dangerous in attack, defended quite well and kicked well.

NSW have chopped and changed their halves combination for years. We finally have one position nailed down. Any NSW supporter that doesn't get behind Soward at Origin time is a goober.

I like it when callers ring up and point him out on things he gets wrong and he still argues the point.

Tunks is as clueless as Tallis.

I don't mind Roach, but stopped listening to Continuous Call Team because it is absolutely f**king terrible.

And how good is his passing game?
The equal of Quade Cooper and none other IMO and he's a better defender

Soward is only going to improve. Sure his 3rd game wasn't as good as his 2nd, but lets face it, we had no ball.

Soward to be long term Blues #6!!!

the good thing about anyone on 2SM is that no-one is listening. Well no-one of any importance, anyway.

Fart Tarps. That's 2SM.

PS most people work there for free. Ego bigger than their wallet.

just email Hughesy at [email protected] and say... "every time Tunks bags Saints, i write to the NRL to ask them to never let you have the broadcast rights to league"....

What a good idea! I'll make a point of it and I'll also write to the NRL
Oh and does Queensland bound mean "off to Queensland" or "bound by Queensland" :sarcasm:

I used to listen to this show on the radio app on my iphone as I am starved of RL talk on the radio here in Melbourne.

I had to stop because it complete, utter shit.

I know listen to the fire-up podcast which is not too bad.

This Week in League sucks balls as a podcast.

A Manly fan and a Tigers fan fellating each other for an extended period of time, reading match reports to games you have already watched.

The Manly stooge is everything you would expect from a Manly fan.

My favourite Peter Tunks moment was at Kogarah's Jubilee Oval in '88 or '89.

I was sat up on the hill amoungst a pretty small crowd. Anyway, dirty Tezza Lamb potted a penalty at the English St. end real early, then it was a Red V onslaught.

Walford scored about 4 tries and toe-poked goals from everywhere.....the Tunks bit is coming....we belted them 30 odd to 2. Tunks was assisted from the field in the open 10 minutes after being set apon by 3 Dragon forwards. I know one was Brad Mackay. When they got up off him he was a fat, hairy, unconscious mess, splattered on the half way line. I thought he may have been dead, not once, but dead twice. So he got carted off never to be seen again.

God bless my old man, who recorded the game. So I watched it the next day. Late in the 2nd half they showed footage of Tunks on the bench and he was still utterly out of it, eyes rolling and bloodshot, mouthguard still in and a stupid expression on his face.

I've forgotten what the topic of this thread was about, but I have provided a good story of a Dog getting owned. I hope you enjoyed it.
