AFL games go for around 2 1/2 hrs all up including the 1st and 3rd quarter break of 6 minutes and 20 minute half time break. - Not quite sure where you got this 5 hours from even with travel

Should have gave your ticket to someone who wanted to see it - you must be fun at parties

NFL 3 1/2 hours or so

MLB - 3 hours plus

Test Cricket up to 5 days -7 1/2 hours each day

ODI - 9 Hours or so

T-20 - 3 Hours or so
And a 3 grade day of RL used to be 5h

Bring it back properly ie without the 45 min breaks

That has a lot to do with an inferior complex that Viccos are born in to. WAWA's have no problem with Rugby league, and SASA's are generally non-plussed. But the Viccos, they are literally born into hating anything that is Sydney orientated.
You wait until Melbourne overtakes Sydney in population, which is predicted to happen in the forth coming years.

even as a Queenslander I notice they take the rivalry way more seriously than Sydneysiders...

To be honest, Melbourne can have all these extra people. Sydney's infrastructure is sub-optimal at best, and add another one million+ people, no thanks.

Then the population will drop straight back to second as all the Prictorians move to Queensland as they inevitably seem to do. We need a wall and we need Victoria to pay for it.

But their spawn usually don’t follow their fumbler parents as they go to school and see everyone in a rugby league jersey and don’t want be looked at as weird

now it’s our turn to have to expand and grow aggressively and other sports will be looking over their shoulders

We'll need a few Sydney teams to relocate or drop down to NSW Cup to successfully expand our footprint. None of this bringing back dead NSWRL teams and having them play a few games in Perth and a few in Sydney. If Phil Rothfeld thinks it's such a good idea then he can go down to Wooloware and tell the Sharks to head to Perth.
