why 2028? This year they both start extensions to the COVID deals. In 2028 the AFL will be halfway through its next deal....

Because the argument has been the NRL made an error extending early. How much value the 9th games brings is the only way to know for sure.

Also will have more of an idea, How much of the $4b cash is Telstra and TV. It is just pure guesswork so far

I think the club own it , it is council ,state and federal funded with money from Parra as well. They get to keep commercial rent and all the funds are grants .
Awesome if it is

Tigers don’t own theirs i think nor do south’s but I could be wrong

The NRL started their non COVID deal. ie 2023 thru to 2027 ( five years) New deal to start on 2028. So last year ( 2023) was the start ( first year) of our new deal, this is to be reported very-very soon.

Perth Red is an obvious afl fan boy who has a rugby league bad afl good agenda that he shows at all times. He is in denial about Chris Fagan’s racism scandal which the AFL hid under the rug for years. Whenever he goes on his bullshit I remind him of it.
Not sure if PR would care too much about that. Maybe cut the AFL references and stick to NRL.

Sorry meant last year. stll living in the past. lol. The AFL extension also started last year through 2024 before the new deal kicks in from 2025.

I think V'Landys does plenty of good things in his role but FMD he also says some dumb shit at times. For a start as the head of an organisation that encompasses teams and fans from both countries, he shouldn't be showing favouritism towards Australia.

Alas he thinks he's being all blokey and funny but comes across as bit of a tit for the head of a sport at times. Sure its said in jest but really??

Never saw that quote

to balance against it he was talking about nz having a second nz team

his comments above were obviously in jest

Yeah on reflection he was probably just having a jokey dig at Wayne but when it’s quoted without context it makes him look pretty ordinary.

He left himself open to it being taken out of context, I can't see the Chairman of cricket for example saying something that can be taken that way.

Although that is why the media love him too, So there is good and bad

Considering the current Chairman of Cricket Australia is former NSW Premier Mike Baird, I would not be so sure of that.
