As for tv revenue .

He’s hidden it well because his alt is pro afl

he used the term hillbilly nswrl supporters that what made me know it was grotd
Hidden it well?
I don't think so. The long and whining posts about NSW and Sydney, and how they have tried to destroy Brisbane, SE Qld, and all of Qld, weren't the giveaway?
He's trolled well.

It cannot be fixed. All we can do is mitigate the damage.

Announce the West Coast Pirates will be the 18th team and will enter in 2027.

Announce a third team for Brisbane to enter before 2033. The media attention and speculation this will draw to our game over the next decade will be priceless.

Dolphins rebrand as Moreton Bay Dolphins and wear red, white and silver.

Behind the scenes there should be plans to boot the Sharks and Tigers when the current broadcast deal expires in 2027. Neither club will ever be sustainable and their licences will be up for renewal by then. The old Balmain contingent of fans will be dead within 20 or 30 years. Having the Dolphins competing since 2023 and the Pirates ready to enter in 2027 will give the ARLC some leverage when greedy clubs demand more money in exchange for them signing a loyalty agreement with the ARLC. The great thing about this is the ARLC can come out of this smelling like roses because the clubs pull this shit every five years.

So high on your list of priorities, is a change to the Dolphins colour scheme?

Also announcing an expansion team over a decade out from its first season?

If only there was some magical way that communications could be had with people on the other side of the world.
Yeh your right, but then again why use that excuse then? Maybe pistol Pete is too principled to spend money to go overseas to represent his organisation. Oh hang on ….,.,,

I haven't gone to a game since Glebe was so harshly treated... these things matter in 2022
I haven't gone to a game since they kicked Cumberland out. Cumberland (as the name suggested) was a team for ALL of western sydney. Then the NSWRL brainlets admitted Parramatta decades later as some kind of replacement.

WHY. ON. EARTH. Would you replace a team for all of western sydney with a team just for Parramatta? Western sydney collectively has a population of over 1million people, Parramatta has less than half that. What on Earth would make the people from the other side of the Parramatta river in places like Baulkham Hills or Carlingford of Blacktown to go for a team called Parramatta?

Stupid Rugby League shooting itself in the foot again!

That's not true. The bulk of advertising revenue is in the five metro areas. There are laws preventing companies from controlling media over the entire country.

The Broadcasting Services Act has been amended many times since 2006. The current rules are "one a markete" which effectively prevented Bruce Gordon from buying Prime when he already owned WIN.

You should also let Seven/Prime know this. Seven bought Prime out last year.

Nine and WIN were also strong merger candidates before their current affiliation agreement was signed - however it should be noted that Nine is very aggressively pushing a Total TV solution for its national advertising - it now effectively controls WINs advertising.

As for the AFL that you’ve got a hard on for, I’d pick the Dolphins as a brand over the Suns or Giants. Why? Kids like Dolphins. Kids, in particular girls, will follow the club simply because they like the mascot. Those are your adult fans in 15 years. Now compare that to asking a kid to explain what the hell GWS means and where it is…

The AFL branding for the Suns and Giants - let alone the name Greater Western Sydney - remains utterly baffling. There were so many better choices.

Plus sending some geriatric idiot to WS to try to sell the game while offending just about everyone with his bizarre sense of humor was a master stroke.

The RLPA didn't miss the junket over there, No doubt will enjoy a holiday too now. It takes 2 sides to Tango
2 sides? Jesus the RLPA has been attempting to negotiate for over a year. It’s the NRL that won’t come to the table.

They simply don’t have the expertise to negotiate the CBA. That’s why they hired the ex channel 9 CEO - cause the current NRL administration has never negotiated a CBA.

It’s a hot mess due to NRL incompetence. Pure and simply.

I’ll never understand why any league fan would go to bat for administrators against players - especially considering how poor the NRL administration has been for 25 years

Haha really? We seem to live rent free in your head haha. I have no idea who Donkey is, just as I have no clue who you are. You just keep living in conspiracy land though

No, you don't. The bill's delivery just got delayed due to the increased mail volume in the lead up to Christmas.

It’s like any expansion team in any sport, including your beloved AFL. Fans switch allegiances when new options become available. For example, Lions in the AFL lost members to the Suns when the Suns came in. That said you know this, you’re just being an idiot about it.
People in Brisbane who follow the Broncos will mostly keep following the Broncos. A small minority will switch. A decent number of NRL fans in Brisbane that don’t follow the Broncos will switch. Next to nobody, except a handful of f**kwits on Internet forums who bitch and moan regardless, will care that they used to come from Redcliffe. Most people will make their decision on the fact that they’re not the Broncos.
haha Jesus Christ are you an idiot. Theonly f**kwit on the internet here is you.

How many brisbane lions fans located in Brisbane swapped to the Suns? Zero.

You know why? Because the Suns are on the Gold Coast. That’s right location matters.

Brisbane lions fans on the Gold Coast changed allegiances. You realise Gold Coast is a completely different city than Brisbane yeah??

You realise people in Beenleigh and Logan and Ipswich don’t identify with the GC or Redcliffe? They identify with Brisbane.

There is 75km between Suns stadium and Suncorp stadium. You’d hardly find a Suns fan until you hit Helensvale. Same as the titans.

From Morton bay stadium:

- 48km to Mount Gravatt
- 54km to Sunnybank
- 59km to Acacia Ridge
- 65km to Logan
- 67km to redland bay
- 93km to Ipswich

What’s the first thing that happens when you say to someone that has no idea about sport or NRL that you support “the broncos” or “the bulldogs” or “the bruins” or “the Mavericks”??

The very next question is “oh right, where are they from?” … and then you answer “Brisbane …” or “Footscray …” or “Boston” or “Dallas…”.

The same will happen with “the Dolphins”. It will be either “where they from?” or “oh the Redcliffe team”. Very few south of the river will genuinely support the Dolphins just based on the fact the team is 60km away. The titans are basically the same distance away. They’ll continue to support broncos or their interstate team. Why would you drive to Redcliffe as opposed to GC?

There’s much more to do over the weekend on GC than Redcliffe. You can go to a titans game and then hit the beach or go to a decent resturant or bar etc.

If they chose the Firehawks a lot more south westerns would convert on mass.

I love this idea location doesn’t matter haha ofcourse it f**king does. If it didn’t, why do any of you Sydney types give a flying f**k about 2 Sydney teams being relocated to Adelaide and Perth?

Why is it when Sydney teams are discussed it’s always “ya can’t relocate teams it just makes no sense to switch locations”… “why would you relocate St George from kograh to the new SFS? Fans just won’t travel the 15km to Moore Park?”

Then Brisbane gets a 2nd team and all of a sudden location means sweet FA. Magically we are expected to believer that this team labelled “the dolphins” will just float across the ether and convince people 40km away to convert.

If you choose the wrong location you can’t maximise interest.

Putting a side in Redcliffe and rebranding them “the dolphins” was the mediocre option, especially when south of the river provides an opportunity to saturate the market and cut the AFL off at the knees.

If you don’t understand this logic, you are not only a poor strategic thinker, you know nothing about the SE Queensland.

If Redcliffe was smart and actually wanted to capture other areas of Brisbane or even central Queensland - they’d have tapped into Queensland patriotism - and called themselves Sunshine State Dolphins. Ripped off Golden State Warriors.

Once you reference Queenslands “sunshine state” moniker you could at least get some people in SE and Central Queensland to easily go “ah a team that’s trying to represent the state”.

It’s exactly why the first brisbane 2nd team was called the South Queensland Crushers. It captured people who disliked the Broncos and Qld peoples love for the state. “The dolphins” is just the team based in Redcliffe and dropped “Redcliffe” from its name
