The real question is did the whole commission sit down 3-4 years ago and lay out a strategy of what they would like to see that would benefit NRL and how they would lobby for it? If not then it is a failure of the commission, led by Vlandys who seems to be the one making most of the games directional decisions.

Every member on the commission is a leader in their own right. A doctor, professor, premier, captain, barrister. Do they need PVL to hold their hand? Or from time to time, take the initiative?

Yep and thats where the NRL could have pulled a lever. Going back to 2021 they could have been offering Qlnd Govt another team based in Redcliffe if they included Redcliffe stadium in Olympic plans. Strategy and playing the long game is not oft a strong point with the NRL.

With regards to possible rectangular stadium upgrades for the Brisbane Olympics, PVL may have been asleep at the wheel, or working at his other job- Racing NSW.

However there are two commissioners in Beattie and Jones who are ex Qld politicians. They could've done something.
