Phil Blake was my favourite South Sydney player. As a kid I used to try and play like him. This is Phil Blake in action against the Brisbane Broncos at Lang Park 1989.

Top stuff Sonic.I too was a massive Blakey fan.Phil absolutely loved our club and never really wanted to leave.But they were the dark days of 1990.Mario,Blakey,Chisolm all left cause we could afford to keep them.

Blakes best was the 27 tries he scored for Manly in 83. If you can get any footage of them.....enjoy. Or the try he scored against Parramatta in the National Panasonic cup..... two chip and chases. The bloke was a genius. Good Manly junior.

I've got footage of Blake playing for Manly in the 1984 semi final against Souths when Souths came back from behind and won the match which resulted in Manly getting elimnated.

I was at that match. Manly gopt bombed out of it after going up 14 nil. Even Bill Hardy scored.
