I'd rate Hodges and Inglis as better centres at the moment. As far as centres that Gould would have "seen", I'd put Mike Cronin, Steve Rogers, Mal Meninga and Gene Miles all in front of Gasnier. I'd put Gasnier and Renouf in about the same class.

He's the best attacking center I've ever seen. Hodges, Meninga, Cronin etc etc all while being phenomenal players, there is no one in the game that can take it to the line and step a guy who is two inches in front of him like Gasnier can.

Being the best center ever is a joke though, the guy costs plenty of tries with his defence. He rushes out of the line all the time invariably creating an overlap and gifting a try.

He's got a great turn of speed too. It's always really funny when his head start bouncing up and down, you know he's putting on the sprint when you see him do that.

Say what you will about Gasnier the person, as a player he is sensational and Gus is well within his rights to say what he did.

Does Gasnier ever get results when the odds are against him??- he has to be the king of soft tries, and then acting like he has scored one like Eric Grothe (the real one). Gasnier plays like a decent touch footy player, a nice little 'jink' and nothing else at all.

Gasnier is one of the best.. he can constantly create something out of nothing and is destructive with his limited ball at the Dragons. Could well be better than his uncle but playing in different eras, noone would ever be able to tell.

Hodges last 30 months have been incredible and based on that and the single greatest game i think i've seen from a centre (for the roosters vs the broncos, 2002) i'd say he is the greatest centre i've seen. Including meninga.
