Parramatta’s slump to the bottom of the NRL table could not have come at a worse time.

Not when the GWS Giants are emerging as the biggest story in Sydney’s west since the magnificent early success of the Western Sydney Wanderers in the soccer.

The Giants flogged Carlton on Saturday afternoon and are now running equal third on the AFL premiership table, despite having played only one game at home.

I’m no expert but they say this young guy Jeremy Cameron is a budding superstar.

At the same time, the Parramatta Eels are a debacle.

I have no idea what Rothfield is trying to say about crowds in Sydney. He says something along the lines of "this is the first time in the history of the NRL where 2 interstate games had larger crowds than any games in Sydney". The top 2 crowds were Cowboys vs Broncos (24531) and Melbourne vs Souths (18067), both games outside Sydney. Okay, but is this the first time ever???
