You watch him drop them like a hot potato when the come back to the field after there soft draw

This.

Not only to mention they've already had the comp rigged in their favour before it's even started with the large salary cap concessions they get over the other teams, as well as the preferential draft picks.

At least teams that legitimately win the NRL premiership can say they've done so without the exorbitant head-start over the other teams in the first place.

I have no idea what Rothfield is trying to say about crowds in Sydney. He says something along the lines of "this is the first time in the history of the NRL where 2 interstate games had larger crowds than any games in Sydney". The top 2 crowds were Cowboys vs Broncos (24531) and Melbourne vs Souths (18067), both games outside Sydney. Okay, but is this the first time ever???

Let's see how far back we need to go...

Round 9, 2015:
Top attendances:
- Broncos vs Panthers - 24566
- Cowboys vs Bulldogs - 15794

The man is an idiot!

It makes no sense doesn't it?

What about when the Broncos had 45K to a game or the Storm 25K??

That's the thing. I am sure if you looked at any given year, you'd likely find a few cases where the top 2 crowds were outside Sydney. That's what confused me so much. Can he really be that stupid?

Yesterday on fox sports news, that dickhead from the telegraph james hooper was saying the exact same thing - that the nrl should be worried because of GWS and that they will be soon getting "full houses".

They must be poker players?

Maybe all 25k in Sydney that watch them on live FTA TV might all start showing up to games...

GWS still hasn't had a decent crowd yet, but supposed league journos like Hooper and Rothfield (waiting for Richie and gossip columnist DUI Bec to join the chorus) are already predicting them to take over.

Do GWS even play out of Sydney anymore? Didn't they just take a shitload of tax payers money and run to Canberra?

This news has now grown to be a front page story. May be some truth to it. Well done, Scoop Rothfield!

Andrew Johns tells Tim Gilbert to f*** off on Sunday Footy Show

EXCLUSIVE BY PHIL ROTHFIELD THE DAILY TELEGRAPH JUNE 01, 2015 2:17PM SHARE

Johns drops the fbomb

League immortal Andrew Joey Johns has caused a television furore by dropping the F-bomb on live TV yesterday (Sunday).

Johns was appearing on the Sunday Footy Show when he told host Tim Gilbert to ‘f… off’ under his breath during a pass the ball segment.

“We’re regretful and it’s not something we’re proud of,” said director sport Steve Crawley.

To make it worse, junior rugby league players were on the set acting as ball boys for the segment.

The show’s anchor Tim Gilbert said he thought Joey had sworn under his breath.

“It was Sterlo v Freddy and Joey in a pass the ball comp and the producer told me to gee them up a bit for some theatre.

“Joey’s killing them so I said ‘hey what about your foot over the line.’

“And he said ‘oh f**k off’ under his breath – I didn’t know it got to air.

“He’s such a competitive bloke. He wouldn’t want to lose a game of marbles.”

Crawley says he will speak to Johns about the incident this afternoon.

“We apologise for it happening but that’s live TV,”Crawley said.

“Joey will be really dirty on himself for making the mistake when he obviously didn’t think it was going to be broadcast.”
