I find that most of those bands lack imagination and any real depth to what they do. It's why the mallcore kids listen to them - they're metal's version of pop. Thus, I don't care what shirts kids are wearing. The fact that thousands of teenagers are running around in Slipknot shirts is evidence that they have no idea.

KSE are an exception in my opinion but I don't listen to them too often either.

Incidentally I never said Pantera were soft, I merely stated (and Darth Bobo clarified) that on the spectrum of most extreme to least extreme metal, Pantera are firmly planted at the least extreme end - as much as Phil obviously wanted them to be a death metal band. I never said they were sh*t or weren't influential, however they would be far more influential around the less extreme bands than your death metal bands which would look up to the likes of Morbid Angel and Ulver over Pantera.
