Pick your teams

I'm going NSW first - I will post a Two Headed Merkins team later, haven't thought about it much yet.

NSW

1. Teddy - tiny bit infront of turbo
2. Addo Carr - certainty
3. Mitchell/Lomax/Burton - lazy latrell gets a chance if can play few games, think lomax was best pick before injury, Burton smokey
4. Turbo - certain pick somewhere. He will carve from anywhere
5. To'o - earnt his chance
6. Luai - I wanna see if his spark translates to origin .... wighton is puss
7. Cleary - certainty
8. Haas - certainty
9. Cook - certainty
10. Junior - could be going better, but great x factor
11. Crichton - has played well at origin level
12. Frizell/Sims - Friz gets a chance to show he still has it
13. Radley - tough and versatile

14. Papen - derseves a chance, could be gamebreaker, though unsure how to use him
15. Jake - better than Safiti
16. RCG - deserves a return
17. Murray/Yeo/Funicane - unsure when murray is back

To'o is short and has a weakness under high ball. Toupo's forms been great and gives Cleary atleast one tall wing option to target with bomb.
Brian would be a weapon off the bench tho for a 25min stint against tired forwards.But it won't happen.
Paps great but where does he fit in? Of we needed to give Cook a rest then pick Api.

Backs cancel each other out IMO

Gagai plays out of his skin for QLD
Munster and DCE are better than any NSW halves
Ponga and Tedesco are much of a muchness
We may have a slight edge in the centres if Turbo is there

QLD 3-0, worst case 2-1
Nothing surer, Clean up the bookies

Nathan's the best Half on the planet. Problem is they have a better 5/8 and hooker. And they have a few good backline players now.

In Origin last year I thought DCE was far better than Cleary, and he had an inferior side

With Munster along side him, and a better forward pack. Not sure Nathan will comes close in Origin IMO

If selecting on form, then Gutherson, RCG, Matterson, and Mahoney have to be somewhere in their respective teams' line-ups.

Id say Matterson is zero chance for game 1, but if he is one of the form backrowers next 3 weeks (v warriors, manly, souths) then he should definitely be considered, as should NBrown.

Personally id have Harry Grant as hooker for QLD, as well as Reed has been going, Grant offers a little more variety in attack

Is Opacic from QLD? A smokey perhaps?

They have a lot of strike elsewhere, just need solid defenders in that position

They will pick Ben hunt at 14 (unless he is injured). He was playing well this year prior to injury. Covers hooker, the halves and can also play that link role at 13.
