The people have spoken and the majority are in agreement with me that Pirates 3 sux dead decayed corpses!
It went dark, hence the M rating.
It forgot it worked in the begining only because it was PG and there was light humour.
But they had to go get all darky Star Wars 3 aka Spiderman 3 and kill the fun with violence.
Had to go 'n up the tempo with unnecessary violence.

Faren'heights only defending the movie because he has a hard-on big as a shagoyer from here to Tasmania over Keira Knightly. What's she, the flavor of the month? Next week it'll be, who? Mandy Moore? Posh Spice? Shakira?

Bet you even dedicated a wank to Knightly in your private man sessions, Faren'height.

And you wanna know what sux about the other day? I had to pay money to see it.....as I ran out of free vouchers.
So I'm down to the nitty-gritty paying for this sh*t!
Did you know that once 30 minutes into a film you can't get your money back?
You can actually walk out in the 1st 10minutes and a ask for a refund if you don't like how sh*t's going down?

dude i think shes ugly, deadset surfboard. So trust me, my opinoin is on the quality of the movie and not the chick. And it appears to me that this movie was aimed at the intellectually able, considering your spelling of 'Fahrenheit', it wasnt surprising that you hated it. Ive spoken to many who have loved the film, but you can disagree because this movie was different. I am one to embrace change, although others may just want things to stay the same from POTC 1.

The people havent spoken, just because one message board says so, that doesnt constitue 'the people.' Your reason for disliking this movie is obfuscation, and that cannot be helped. You can crow on all you like, but there are those who enjoyed this movie and those that didnt. I did, and about you i couldnt care less, its your loss.

RE: Fahrenheit's "intellectually able" remark

Son, Jerry Bruckheimer (producer of other thinking man films such as Top Gun, Bad Boys and Kangaroo Jack) does not make films aimed at the intellectually able. There are two types of films that Bruckheimer makes: popcorn and rubbish (occasionally the two will coincide).

To suggest that this film is even remotely intelligent is an insult to all the great stories that have been told through the medium of cinema over the years.

And for the record, I thought Pirates was garbage. The acting from all bar Depp and Rush was cringeworthy at best, while the pacing was way off for an action/comedy.

Touche NBB, and Ghoulies youre probably right. My whole point on this is possibly wrong, but what i initially tried to say was that the dude who made the first post said stuff like "Bloom died and then he came back again, what kind of sh*t is this" - I was just remarking that my blind grandmother could have seen that coming (as in Bloom becoming the Captain of the Dutchman.) To prove this point i played the 'intellectual card', when that was the wrong thing to do, im not implying that im any smarter than the average bloke, just because i enjoyed the film. Im just saying that the initial poster couldnt buy a clue, just because of the mere fact that he was so 'confused' all the time.

This film is complicated Ghoulies, but not intelligent... i see the difference now. I am a fan of the POTC franchise, therefore the stories told sit well with me, i find it insulting when one claims that the only reason i like a movie is because of an unattractive actress and then proceeds to dislike the movie because he cant understand it (when it is quite easy to understand.)

loved 1, loved 2, third one was sh*thouse as much i tried to enjoy it.Had its moments but over all it was slow.too serious and for the first time the script didnt seem natural to the actors. The awesome action sequences dissapeared, and it just seemed like they were trying to stretch it out..

cant wait for harry potter 5 and the next resident evil flicks though!!

I thought it was OK, but the 1st of the series was easily the best.
Pirates 3 was too convoluted for its own good, also not as much fun as the 1st 2. I'll watch it again on DVD, and maybe a few things will click.

I hope in a few years they come back a do another one, but more in line with the spirit of the 1st. Make it a stand alone movie in the POTC universe.

Fight scenes dragged on way too much imo.

I loved the first one so much i saw it at the cinemas 3 times, the second one took a few goes to grow on me, i don't think i'll be watching this one again.

If you like 3 hours of cannon fire and sword fights this film is for you.

The first of this series was an average movie elevated by Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush. The second was sans Rush and Depp's character was rather samey and stale. By the end of the third both Depp and Rush were well and truly grating. And Keira Knightley is as bland and stiff as a freshly ironed white shirt. Franchise is a good word for the Pirates series - just like McDonalds it's bloated and vacuous with zero nutritional value.
