Pizzas

there is something about pizza places these days that seriously annoys me. Most of them seem to make meat lovers pizzas with barbecue sauce base. Tomato paste is where it's at

well, when you're just getting one slice, you have to choose from what's there

Of course when I order a whole pizza I put my preferences in

Can't complain about my local Eagle Boys, though some others I've been to have been average. Love their meatlovers, plenty of topping and they don't back off with the sauce either.

Make homemade once a week, apart from lack of crust crispyness (for some reason I want this on my HM pizza) can never complain.

I work for the Pizza Hut national call centre in Brisbane (with few exceptions, it is us you talk to when you ring up to order, not the store), so my opinion is thus very far from unbiased. I reckon our pizzas are better than Eagle Boys and especially Dominos, but I also I think the quality of all chain pizza mobs has decreased over time. I know all of them have reduced the size of their pizzas (standard used to be 12", now it's 11"). Dominoes reduced further to 10 1/2", then got swiped by that Eagle Boys marketing campaign (the one where they stuck a Dominos box inside an Eagle Boys box).

There aren't many of our restaurants left at all. People started preferring the Dominos model of delivered pizza to the Pizza Hut model of eat in pizza, and delivery stores are a hell of a lot cheaper to run. So it was inevitable that they would disappear. I think there are about a dozen left in the whole country.

@Halla: Meatlovers are on BBQ sauce because the vast majority prefer it that way. And just quietly, it makes me happy that you are annoyed by it. :p

Home made or a gourmet pizza joiunt obviously are the way to go, if you can afford the extra cost. I like getting the mini pizza bases. That way, every one can make their own and there's no fights over which toppings go on and which stay off.

So Jason when you order on-line as I often do does that go to a central location as well or to the store directly

The order gets submitted to the same computer system that phone orders are entered into, and passed from there to the store's computer (it's all done automatically and takes only a few seconds unless something goes wrong).

Pizza is without doubt, the best food on the planet.

I could eat it every night.

There is no such thing a s a bad pizza. Some however are better than others.

Can't go wrong with a good old peperoni with extra cheese....meat lovers with tomato sauce....calzone too

Out of the big chains, pizza hut is definately the best

In Wollongong Napoli goes pretty good...slice from Mama's Pizza isnt bad either especially after you've had a few drinks

lol Had many a slice after a few at the Harp or the Arsehouse

What do they charge per slice these days? I remember the price was aroung $5 a slice. Only the very pissed would pay that price for a slice of what is a pretty ordinary, luke warm pizza.

oh can we please have kebab, curry and pie threads, too? that way we'll cover all 5 pieces of the pisshead food pyramid.

 love it.

Eagle Boys 4 lyf. Pizza Hut and Dominos pretty even in terms of shitness. Nothing beats homemade or woodfired. Gourmet is overrated.

Anything with a shit ton of meat, chilli, cheese. spinach and capsicum and pineapple are worthy additions.

Olives and mushrooms are f**ked.

bacon and egg pizza is the bomb.

Big fan of a plain cheese pizza, to be honest. Damn Kevin McAllister for inspiring it!

Also enjoy as good meat lovers, double bacon cheeseburger, or anything with feta and artichokes.

Partial to a good nacho pizza with sour cream, ground beef, and corn chips.

Oddly enough, the best pizza I've ever had was a chicken pizza with corn flakes and blueberry sauce on it. Was f**king amazeballs.

Some of these combinations are starting to sound as weird as the pizza combo theNinja Turtle would have
