If a couple of countries found that they were at a similar level, they could have some good contests which would help promote the game. The right countries need to be matched up as often as possible to help prevent blowout scorelines.

League players make gridiron players look like a bunch of pussies. If the average NFL fan was to cop a look at a league game, it would take off overnight.
It's easier to understand, it's faster, and the players don't need helmets
I agree, I reckon you need to market the game as an alternative but not as a threat. NFL would hardly even have the AMNRL on its hitlist YET> Find a niche market and develop it to the point that the NFL cant do anything about it if they choose to. Develop players that love the game (like Nate Smith ??) and no amount of money will convince a RL fullback to go become a place kicker and get 4 minutes field time per game!CouldaBeenAnything said:Jimbo said:Fox coverage is what's needed.

I think this is the exact opposite of everything that needs to be said to the American public. You go in there calling the athletes in their favourite competition in the country pussies, you will no doubt get a massive majority offside and probably be in a worse place than where you started from...

As far as I know, at the moment they are having difficulty in finding referees locally and call on internationals for assistence in their numbers while they set up a foundation for their referees association. Referee Doug Keen from my district has often officiated games in the States including matches against the Irish for the battle of St. Patricks Day.
