I hope we forget about Mason the mail I have on him is not good. If I could post what I know the rest of you would feel the same.

Firman = hooker
Mason = prop
Chalk = fullback
Bez = centre

Assuming we have $1.2m to spend, these should be our 'big four'. We could probably get Firman relatively cheap, and I'm sure Chalk would jump at the chance of first grade fullback.

1.2 million for those 4?? heres wat id pay

400k mason tops
berrigan 300k tops (wont come for that i doubt)
chalk 150k (hed come for that)
firma 80k (would come for that if it meant 1st grade)

adds up to 900k. saves 300 grand. chalk would come cheap 2 play first grade n so would firman

I'd happily shell out 450k for Mason and 350-400k for Bez. Firman would kick you in the head if you offered him 80k, I think he is on something between 150-200k at Rorters. If we were going to play him at rake, I'd pay him 150k fo shiz.

My mail today is that we are in line to secure the grand total of ZERO of these guys. That's despite big money being thrown at them.

Berrigan is long odds to remain a Bronco and they are happy for him to go. He's on even less than what dottie said apparently.

Mason leaning back to Bulldogs after the sponsorship thing makes their offer equal to ours.

Firman would cost 50% of what he is already on at the Roosters. They are cutting him so have to pay half.

He's more than likely going to be a Bulldog though. Anasta goes, they need a 6.

Calderwood plays for the Leeds Rhinos in ESL. Watchers of ESL matches may be able to tell us more.

I've seen quite a few SL games with Calderwood playing for Leeds. He's a strong guy and has a really good fend. Always seems to get a try in the matches I've seen. Never seen him play centre only wing. Don't know if he plays both. Tends to get the wanders from his wing in defence but can tackle. Seems to like the let them past chase and go from behind method of defence which might not suit NRL. It's prevalent in the SL. I've seen him defuse some bombs pretty well too.

He's 24 or 25 I think. Pretty big, over 6 feet at a guess. Probably around 90 kgs.

I wouldn't put him above anything we already have though, including Simmons.

If Berrigan is only on $100,000-$120,000, then i would throw $300,000 at him.. You wouldn't think he would knock it back..

Maybe other clubs are already throwing that at him ;)

I don't think Calderwood has ever played centre or at least started there for a game.

Berrigan will prob. stay at Broncos unfortunately, he did this whole test the market thing last time if I remember correctly and still stayed. We should chase Bell.

Yes he did tiburon, according to the nospam37 forum he does it because he doesn't have a manager. Hard to believe but that's what they are reporting.

Cowboys are after Berrigan as well now. That makes Cows, Broncs, Sea Eagles, Gold Coast and Sharks after him. There'll probably be more join in as well.

I do have one concern about Berrigan. How many Broncos have done really well after leaving? Not many!

You're right there. in fact quite a few of the Broncos that have left cause problems at their next club and end up wanting a release.

McKenna didn't do to bad after he left

Berrigan didn't test the market last time he re-signed just before the deadline...

This is all coming back to me now, didn't we go down this same track with Michael deVere not so long ago when he was " leaving" the broncos ????

I could post things about at least 4 current players that would make your hair stand on end as well.

The thing is, unlike J Williams, there is nothing on any of their records. Nothing proven. To take any sort of moralistic stance against Mason would mean a person would also have to advocate the cutting up of some current contracts as well.

It's a sinking feeling I get when it looks like the sharkies are just the goto club for a contract increase and price hike for players, with little intention of actually signing with us, but entering negotiations just to up the anti.

Let's not kid ourselves, if opes wasn't here neither would noddy be.

Vagana is the exception, but besides him the big names we have attracted are few and far between.

The worry i have as i am sure others do is that, it seems as though so many players and a few high profile (Peachey and Stevens) are leaving and noone is coming to replace them.. It may be another long year in 2006..

It's funny how most of the succesful leaving Broncos stories end in other sports.
I.e. Anthony Mundine won a world title, Peter Ryan won the Super 12 with the Brumbies & Brad Thorn played for the All Blacks.
