Fien was much better when he came back for his second stint in the second half. Hopefully Cleary reverts to Gatis starting and Fien off the bench this week. The only really explnation I heard behind the change was "good to keep competition between players for spots."

When Gatis came on, he got the forwards and started moving through them straight up to the A marker positions and we started to get some dominance at the ruck. He's a smart hooker.

exactly, for some reason fein never seems to have much support when he runs from D/Half. Its as though the boys dont know whats going on.

When Gatis takes off, theres 2 or 3 players each side of him.

George is also a very gutsy hooker, wish we were keeping the little greek git..

Our go forward was non existant in the first 20. Do that this weekend and we are toast. It felt like the Raiders game with all the talk being about the week after. Again do that this week and we are toast

I still wish we'd give the ball to our props right on the goal line instead of Fien running around in circles and passing to Rovelli or Witt who promptly lose 10 metres.

Even if they know Rapira or Tuimiavave are about to bash onto the ball they need to be able to stop it.

They should use my "Double Prop" play. Where you have the 2 props charging on to the ball, the ball gets passed to 1 prop who quickly passes on to the other. No defensive line can hold up against 2 props.

Watch out next week for my "Turbo Boost" play. Where one player pushes the other player in the back, to make him go faster.

I'm so smart, some times it hurts.

How can you time your run when you've got a dummy half who picks up the ball and takes a couple of steps? Fein takes about 3 seconds from a hit up timing and in 2-3 seconds that's about 5+ metres. For a period there we were making less than 10 metres in our set of six and this was commented on by the commentators as with Gatis vs Fein. Although I thought sometimes the Panthers were dubiously quick off the line, we were never going to get momentum with someone allowing the defensive team to close the advantage line more quickly.

Mannering needs a kick up the ar*se, because he did jack sh*it and added a few errors to boot.

Pricey did seem flat as his hit up were slowed paced in comparison to his better form. Why is it that Rapira is always used as the second runner for the tip on? Wiki used to use him as his second runner and Pricey was starting to last night. Yet i can't recall Rapira using either of them as his tip on. I used to think Wiki was shirking his workload when he used to tip the ball on from his hit ups, but retospectively injury may have been the cause. Pricey probably had an off day, but it's good to see Rapira hold his own in this tough sport.

Maybe the older heads think Rapira should be doing more work. And fair enough too.

From the sounds of it, Mannering is fuct with a possible broken hand.

To be fair on Fien, he did make a couple of good breaks and some easy metres. Sure, his service from dummy half could be better. But if he can split a defensive line, it sort of makes up for it.

No one should be thinking that someone should be doing more work only if they weren't to begin with. There's nothing worse than your propping partner wanting to work on his sun tan or go missing in action.

I think most of us know who we would like to start as hooker for the next game.

Weren't you the founder of the 'hide the ball' play? Until Hopoate found it!

Does it still hurt?

Nah! I was in a wardrobe for a short time but it got too crowded when the lion and witch moved in.

I see Hoppo was on the sideline watching the U18 game. He has gone real up-market now - latex gloves and all. Must have been talent spotting.

He must have found Michael Jacksons missing glove.
But exhuming Freddy Mercury to find it seems a little off.

hoppa was on Code- MTV last week along with Hame Lauaki and Tuimavave.
There was a distinct icyness toward hoppa by Lauaki I thought. Both Tongans and they are not a very forgiving race of people if you do something thats not really 100%

Sounded odd Hoppa making out that is a common thing to do on a footy field...a joke of sorts.
What next for a laugh, have a gack and see who gets it closest to an opposition player.
