So don't bother trying right.

No

But if the issue is a portion of the population being offended and we agree that there will always be a portion offended regardless of the solution then at some point we have to come up with a solution knowing a portion will be offended.

So essentially we are in the same position as now unless we come up with some metric that determines an acceptable level of people offended.

how about you intellectual giants stick to discussing the actual topic
at the end of the day........ how many Australian athletes 'sing' the anthem prior to an event or after receiving for example, an Olympic medal? It certainly is a mixed bag.

The camera moves down the line of players representing Australia in union and you see players 'into their anthem' many players are from Pacific Island backgrounds and yet they do it proudly.

The camera moves down the line of players representing Australia in league and we see players with their heads down, looking left, right etc. Some mouth some words, many don't sing at all. So come Wednesday night it will actually be no different from last year, the year before that and the year before that and the......

I have 2 questions though,
1. Why play it at all, it's state against state they are not representing Australia.
2. Do QANTAS sponsor the game? Their CEO will most likely step in and complain if it doesn't suit his agenda, just like with IF but that's another story.

You won't induce the response you want from me.

You have proven time again you can't or won't have a rational debate so no point responding to you now.

Have a good weekend.

Have a cry mate, you'll feel better

So is it worth trying or is it not.

No, champ it is not that easy.

You want the flag, Australia Day and the anthem changed?

So describe the flag & anthem you want. And tell us the public holiday you want.
Flag: rainbow serpent, southern cross, spring of wattle.

Public holiday: 3rd Monday in January... Monday is best for public holiday, it's in summer and it will land on the 26th every now and then so we can self flagulate for our racist and insensitive past.

Anthem: uplifting and in a reasonable vocal range so we dont sound so shit when we sing it. Includes the following words - great southern land, old and new, Australia, awesome, girt.

Well you solved the problem, LMAO

Wouldn't mind f**king off the pommy flag in the corner.

New anthem, as said if it raised the adrenaline like "Star Stangled Banner or the Kiwi one", no problem but someone would bitch.

Public Holiday - as long as it is in January - no real problem.

Will this solve the aboriginal victim mentality; so we can all move on.

Most Australians have some victim issues in their hertiage - you know mine, new aussies from the middle east have more recent ones, our Jewish friends certainly have - I could go on and on and on.
