It really amazes me how people can’t see how singing this anthem is offensive to indigenous people.
Why should they sing it?

I agree we could and should do more for our indigenous. This will offend some people but if the English didn't take Australia someone else would of. The whole point is to attract attention, and they’ve done that. They haven’t taken anything away from origin because they’re not obligated to sing

My concern though is the extra attention for someone like Walker. He’s on debut, in the halves for game 1 at Suncorp - if he has a bad game I don’t want people pointing to this as the reason

Hijacking Origin?
The non singing of the anthem hasn’t just started now, this is business as usual for Walker. It’s only that a clued on reporter remembered he didn’t sing it before the All Stars game that it has become a ‘thing’.

Walker, JAC and Chambers didn’t get together and say let’s make a stand against the anthem and hijack Origin, they were asked a question and answered accordingly.

Why can't they just get over two hundred years of being literally treated like animals? Like I said I can understand how indigenous people feel about Australia I do not begrudge them that, but it cannot be changed. Life is not fair so being divisive and acting we are responsible for the actions of our ancestors is stupid IMO, no one is giving the land back.
