Just here in this interview Quayle outlines his thoughts which bring a sense of leadership and a view to the future and what administering the game is about.

We miss him, he has exactly what we have lacked since Gallop and his News mates hijacked our game.

When I hear Quayle talk he gives a sense of trust and confidence that he will take you forward.

COME BACK JOHN WE NEED YOU.

Great article and yes he'd make a HUGE impact back in our game. I know for a fact he was one of the most sought after CEO's after the success of the Sydney Olympics. By the sounds of that article it sounds like he might be retired now. Anyone know the scoop on him ? He would be perfect, but his asking price might be a bit too high. Lets hope he would come back though, but somehow i doubt it.

he said on radio yesterday that he would love to get involved again somehow. he even said he would welcome being involved in any review of the game.

Him and Arko were responsible for making the game really good in 1994, and 1995 was only gonna get bigger with 4 new teams, going national.

Please come back Mr Quayle.

You make Gallop look like a boy scout leader, nothing more.

How times have changed!

I never had an issue with the Arthurson/Quayle regime...

Anyone can see how the game was travelling in 1994 and 1995.

I think the Broncos did but it doesn't mean all Queenslanders felt the same way...

Do you think he was really sat on a tractor?

The guys retired, time for new blood not digging up old corpses that were once good.

I remember when league was struggling in 1983 (crowds were under 7000) they restructured as a result of the Humphreys/Four Corners Episode. Tom Bellow took over before Arthurson . Quayle could do the same thing, get us going again on the right path before passing to someone he nominates.

Sounds good.

If you really want to realign the sport then Quayle (if he really does want to return) would be a valuable addition to a TEAM to effect change post News Ltd.

Old he may be, but loyal to the sport he must be.

Buy him a Winnabago at the end of his tenure would be a smart thing to do.

Quayle ran the biggest sports event ever held in this country.

He was chosen to run the Sydney 2000 Olympics, as we know, but is a former NSWRL first grade player himself.

There is no doubt about where his heart is.

He is streets ahead of any other contender on the sporting landscape...

(How was that Dad? ;-))
