Probably just a coincidence but Wapi left the Lae Tigers last year and moved to the Gurias because there was a player called Joshua Sam in front him at the Tigers.

And in an ironic twist of fate he is getting into the Hunters because the new Hunters first choice fullback this year, Joshua Sam, the same player who kept him out of the Tigers got sacked last week for some alcohol related incident.
Has Joshua Sam gone back to playing digicel cup?

Yes. Joshua Sam is back with the Lae Tigers. Very talented player but he had disciplinary issues.
Don’t know how old Joshua Sam is but if he keeps his head down and knuckles down for the Lae tigers hopefully he’ll get another shot either with the hunters or another Queensland cup side.

In all seriousness it sounds like a very close and competitive league. No blowout scorelines and everybody can beat each other on the day.

From what I have seen this year, the weekly composition of the PNG Hunters is really affecting some of the Digicel Cup Teams and their consistency from week to week.

The Hunters in previous seasons pretty much had a solid spine and the first 13 players were almost the same throughout the season. This year there has been so much chopping and changing that there are almost weekly changes with inflows and outflows to and from the Hunters into the Digicel Cup Teams.
