The Port Moresby Vipers carry their retiring Captain Larsen Marabe off the field after Full-time.

After almost 18 years of playing in the Digicel Cip plus a year with Featherstone Rovers in the UK Larsen has finally hung up the boots.

He won 3 premierships. 1 each with the Rabaul Gurias, Hell Wigmen and the Port Moresby Vipers.

Are these PNG games well attended ? If so what type of numbers for a big drawing game are achieved? Thanks in advance for the information.

Last week's Elimination Finals had an announced crowd of 9,900.

For regular season games, as mentioned earlier, it varies drastically from where it is played, who is playing, etc. Teams outside of the Capital often draw capacity crowds at home, but only have small venues, teams that play matches in Port Moresby (which all seem to play a few 'home' matches at the National Stadium) vary from a few thousand to quite large crowds.

On the 2020 Digicel Cup, looks like a team from New Ireland is set to join called the Ailan Chiefs.

Leaves Bouganville as the last 'major' island in PNG without a Digicel Cup team.

Thanks. So around 10000 for a big game in Port Moresby?

Is Bouganville actually a part or territory of PNG?

Last weeks 2 Elimination Finals were both played at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby as a double header.

And eventhough none of the 4 Teams that played are based in the Capital City they still have a very big following here.

The Gurias usually draw out most of those from the Island Provinces while the Teams from the Highlands Provinces draw out the huge population in the city.

The Hela Wigmen caused another upset today beating defending Premiers Goroka Lahanis in their Elimination Final.

The Lahanis are now out after the 18-4 loss to the Wigmen.
