Can you give as an insight what Lloyd Robson Oval currently looks like.

Work at Loyd Robson Oval only Started in February this year. Think it is set for completion early next year.

Below is the only shot I have of the work at PRL. It was sent to me by a friend who is part of the Construction crew. I might go around sometime later just to see for myself.

PNG HUNTERS MATCH TO TEST PACIFIC GAMES VENUE

28 May 2015

The Intrust Super Cup round 14 match between PNG Hunters and Souths Logan Magpies on June 14 will be played at Pacific Games Venue (Sir John Guise Stadium) in Port Moresby. The match is scheduled to test the venue before the Pacific Games begin in July.

A large crowd well over 20,000 is expected to watch this game.

The Hunters are on high flying note after their consecutive five wins in a row. In last week's game, they held off the competition leaders Mendi Townsville Blackhawks by beating them 22 - 16 .
They have a bye this week and will take on second placed Ipswich Jets in round 13 at the Kalabond oval next week.

In round 14, the Hunters will host Souths Logan Magpies at Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby.

And last night the lights were turned on for the first time at the soon to be completed Sir John Guise Stadium.

Here is a aerial pic taken from a Helicopter last night.

Obviously it will be used for all sorts of sports.

The Hunters will definitely play most of their home games here after the Pacific games while they await the Loyd Robson oval to be completed.

The stadium also has a 400 meter athletics track around it will be used for that.

And after the Hunters move out it might be used by Football (Soccer) or Rugby Union.

In October 2016 PNG will also be hosting the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, so it will be one of the venues for that.

Looks pretty good, should be a good boost for the fellas playing in front of some big crowds and could well be very intimidating for opposing teams.

The PNG Hunters will be playing at this new Stadium this Saturday night (13th June) against the South Logan Magpies.

The Pacific Games Organisers want to use this game as a test event before the Pacific Games open on the 4th July 2015.

i support a good multinpurpose athletic facility for png, but i think theyr going overboard with the lloyd robson reno as well. money doesnt grow on trees and it would be better spent on helping png keep its head above water in terms of the state of health, roads and education.
