It's a stupid idea that appeals to morons with no idea of the logistics or lack of infrastructure in these communities.Well regardless whether all this is viable or not, seems like i was right and the arlc are wanting cairns as the likely spot as the 18th licence, like I've been saying all along... not that i would get any apologies or well ins from the local FNQ folk for the prediction
he seems to think the only metric that should be considered is potential local juniors, PNG aren't even a guarantee of providing that either, at least not ones that will be successful in the NRLIt's a stupid idea that appeals to morons with no idea of the logistics or lack of infrastructure in these communities.
It's also a sad state of affairs in modern journalism that they think the QLD govt will fund a high performance centre and other facilities for a foreign countries NRL team, and that it can be planned and built by 2027.
The fact that this Andrew Hill character is touring around on PNG coin, shows that people already have their snouts in the trough.
You should feel dumb for supporting it, and should repeatedly punch yourself in the dick every time you think it's a great idea.
And the current WA Premier was born in Cottesloe and grew up playing Rugby League and Union.
Apparently $600m is not enough taxpayer dollars for Andrew Hill, he's now trying to demand more from the QLD govt.
And then he'll be out there asking for more to upgrade the Port Moresby stadium.
Is a team viable if it needs over $1bn in govt funding to get started?
It's going to happen by all accounts. Accept it.
How does that make it okay though? It's going to happen by all accounts. Accept it.
And it will be a complete disaster. But by then, Vlandys will have taken his money and run, and you/Donkey will be watching your favourite sport, union.

The sad reality is that PNG crowds generate zero money, and PNG v Australia will never be a draw in terms of TV or Australian crowds.
For some reason, beating up on a 3rd world nation every year, lacks appeal to the sporting public.
Salty MF, no matter how much you toot your pessimistic horn, this is an excellent opportunity to take money from the govt, who were never ever going to give it back to the Australian public regardless of were you think it should be spent, and spend it on a sport we love, reward a country that has RL in thier forefront of their focus, rather than see it spent on the f**kwits that are sprucing up the gabba and the Tasmanian AFL team no one has asked for.. for all the whinging you do you cant see past the fact that we are getting this team and it will be useful, it doesn’t even have to be successfull, like a new team in perth or nz would need to be2 of those will mean nothing to our sport though.
